  1. That don't impress me much I agree, but don't get me wrong I think it's alright.
  2. What a depressing thread! LOL If I had to go I'd want to go do something honourable. You're gonna be remembered by your last act and that's how I'd want to be remembered, not as the man that stood by idol with everybody else. Failing that, heart attack while ball deep in a model sounded good.
  3. If the Westland Apache doesn't get you, a marine with a 9mm will???? LOL Look mate, it's this simple we have to be seen to be above board. We have to be able to take the moral high ground otherwise the world will fall into anarchy, nobody following any rules other than their own. We've been there before and millions paid the price in wars worse than this one, that's why we have the GC, it is failing us in the gorilla type wars but we have to be seen to play by the rules. Bottom line, this wouldn't have gone anywhere if the pratts hadn't been fecking recording it all on film, in voice a
  4. We might be a fairly major player but we can't bring down the GC...... especially now he's been convicted by our own military courts. LOL Best he can hope for is once the fecking mess of Afghanistan is over and all the ragheads have set about killing each other again, he gets some sort of early release. Unlacedegeko is right, this has political implications now that will affect our withdrawal.
  5. your right there mate..never seen charles on goose green he was sitting eating lobsters with his ma .the people who sent these young lads to afganastan want to take a reddner.they cant win. Charles might not have been but Andrew was flying helis, infiltrating SF teams and generally pulling his weight in one of the shittiest conflicts we've seen since WWII. And I'm pretty sure Charles was Navy, he might be some sort of honourary head of the paras but he ain't a para.
  6. For a start they're not in the Army. The armed forces come under the MOD, MI6 comes under the foreign office and MI5 comes under the home office. You won't find them on patrol in Hellmand like army infantry, infact you wont find them anywhere, they're too good for that. They gather intelligence and probably but certainly not confirmed are involved in direct action often alongside SAS, SBS & SRR. Read a bit about them and see if you think they get involved.... The marine broke the geneva convention and got caught, there isn't any defending that. We can't just say "f**k it the convention

  8. I'll have to catch it on iplayer but that sounds like Vulcans and Tornados? The Panavia Tornado is iconic for me!
  9. Give over you're embarassing yourself. Like I said, you sleep sound at night because the 'snobs' working at our intelligence and security services do very nasty things in very dangerous places. They know how this world works better than any of us. These are the boys and girls that infiltrate the most dangerous terror cells in the world, they overthrow governments and pose as arms dealers on the black market. Down town Beirut is a playground to them and they'll go about the most dangerous work in the world often armed with nothing more than their exceptional mind. They work alongside our top sp
  10. Just googled that as it wrang a bell................... 1 in 3 casualty rate! That sounds f***ing horrendous! Even if you were only attached to them for 2 weeks.
  11. Are you one of these do gooders ,which has made this country of ours shit .SHAME ON YOU The armed forces are doing there best to try and protect this country from this scum and you get twats like you saying its not legal ,Its a F*****g war not a rugby game . In fairness, he sounds like a serviceman to me so I'd show the chap a bit of respect. His answer is by the book and I can't dissagree with it, that said I don't dissagree with socks either. You do what you have to and that may mean giving your life or breaking the law. I think the GC is a good thing but it really struggl
  12. If you knew what the f**k you were talking about you'd be dangerous dare. MI6 agents not getting their hands 'dirty', ffs they wrote the book on espionage! The precursor to the CIA was based on the British MI6! Couldn't last round your estate....... do me a favour
  13. If I had watched mates and people I grew a bond with die at the hands of such people I wouldn't let em die quick with one in the head. I would make you suffer and get as much info as I can get out of you. Watched other night abit off subject but people being interviewed about snowden from mi5 and mi6 and they seemed well spoken snobs. Was just wondering for them to become the top blokes and shown for interviews had they got their hands dirty? "Well spoken snobs"............ they'll be the people making sure you and your family sleep safe at night. Just because they're not in battle dre
  14. It's just politics at the end of the day. We all know a dead insurgent ain't gonna kill anybody but the Geneva Convention is a pretty powerfull document that our government can use to our advantage more than it will be used to our dissadvantage. Fact is those Marines knew what the situation was and how to make their lives a little safer, filming it though was a severe error of judgement. They knew the risks so can't cry when caught foul, that doesn't mean I dissagree with what they did at all. Similarly with hunting with dogs, a man that goes out with the intention of coursing a deer knows
  15. . And sbs socks And SRR (the det) seeing as we're naming them all, lol.
  16. The British government have tried playing dumb with embarassing military incidents in the past and when they came out they looked twice the c**ts they would have if they had just fronted up about it from the off. The fact a digital video was out there was probably considered too much of a risk to try to cover up, not to mention how fast word would probably have spread around the cop shop. It was probably too late to make that choice. If it had been discovered entirely from within the corps then things may have been played differently perhaps....
  17. Who knows, the marine may have downloaded the footage and deleted it only for it to be recovered by CID....... The guilty marine has been caught bang to rights, can't grumble really, he acknowledged guilt on camera........ However I completely sympathise with his actions and can't say I wouldn't behave the same. You've just found an injured insurgent from an enemy that think nothing of fighting as dirty as imaginably possible and you're expected to have sympathy....... The RMs are sent to do the toughest jobs our forces encounter, we don't select and train the hardest warriors we have to o
  18. I wouldn't say we're a joke, we just hold our selves to a higher moral standard.

  20. One of the marines was filming with a helmet cam and the police got the video from a servicemans laptop. I'm guessing the marine stupidly passed the video on and eventually got caught. Much the same as lads breaking the hunting act do with pictures etc. Edited, I found this; "The footage is understood to have been discovered after one of the members of the patrol was arrested by civilian police in the UK over an unrelated matter."
  21. Following on from this topic; http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/264365-royal-marines/?hl=%2Bmarines+%2Bmurder&do=findComment&comment=2853188 The marine has been found guilty of murder........ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24870699
  22. I think it'll depend largely on the outcome of negotiations between the Scottish and British governments and further negotitations between our governments and the EU. How will everything be shared out and how will our foreign relations be affected?
