Nice read border lad,,,, but your living a dream if you think Scotland will become independent,,,, perhaps it would be best for us English if you did though,,, stop you poncing of us................... In my daytime work,,, I am employed as a professional pie eater

To be honest I like both types,,,, if it's 10 foot down in a bank,, I like the type that's comes away.....lol, if it's just a foot or two of easy digging t hen you want a stayer,,,. Of course yousing your head, if your doing a deep old place that you know a kill is likely , then use the non sticker. The problem can be when you have ferrets that kill quik and move on,, you era ly need to follow these fellows with the box,,, then there's the others that can get dragged around , so very time you start a hole , it moves 3 feet further along .
-
Nice,,, you can't crumble at that,,, bit of work ,,, tea and cake,,, and a few bunnys,,, to a simple man like myself , that's what I call a result,,,,
-
IDE agree , can't say I have ever seen a ferret asleep underground......................apart from once,, we had lost a hob, early in the day , despite searching with the locator in a deep bank,,,, As we approached the last warren off the day,,, a few hundred yards down the bank,,, we spotted 3 or 4 bunnys drop to ground, netted up ferret in rabbits start to bolt,,, then quiet,,, out with the box ,, dig down a foot or so,, and theres the hob curled up fast asleep,, no dead rabbit or anything,,, the interesting thing was the fact the rabbits were in there with him,, he realy was a useless

Looks don't realy mean a lot,,, wich is just as well,, as that's one ugly mutt. Personally I like the first cross that flint did ,, I saw one of them at the midland , nice big type covering a lot of ground under its feet. I also like the the cross he did with buddy,, there's another young fella on here with one from that litter saw that at the show as well,, that was a real nice type. Of course I'm only talking about looks as I've seen none of the a over work.

Oh by the way don't you think there may be legalities about designing a new box to work with Deben collars?.?? Not that I'm bothered,, just thinking if your doing a commercial venture,, you might be in lumber,, I hope you do come up with something better,,,,, Oh yes one other thing......PRICE,,, make it cheaper
-
Depth accuracy my old mark 1 boxes were bang on,, I realy could pinpoint the ferret,, however the new mk 3 don't seem so accurate, I know with mine and vins when it says 4 foot, it's 2 foot,,so accuracy is a must,, also reliability ,,, and a long battery life. Befor the mk3 Deben did a mk 2,,,, that was apparently shit, as it only picked up 1 collar,, and also had terrible battery life span. As to your question about noise, I do prefer the old clicking sound of the mk1, but like you have already thought , a volume control is a good idea, like the new mk 3.

If you want a bag though,,, I would get a rucksack,, far more comfortable
-
Here's a close up of that carrier on my tuck ,, it's made by strong stuff on here You can carry it like a yolk. Across your shoulders with rabbits hanging front and back to balance out

You see that's great , the farmer can see the dead mole if he wishes or any client for that matter,,,,,,,,,,,,,however a dead mole doesn't realy mean a lot weather it's 1 ,,, or 1000,,,,, The real test that the job is finished is the lack of mole hills,,,,nothing else. No mole hils ,, no moles. Simples I also believe the gas is very infective against moles,,, the gas itself is fecking lethal ,,, no dowt about that,, it's just it's application in a pellet , a d the fact the gas doesn't move far from the actual pellet.. Far better with traps

Was great when I owned this,, just drove from warren to warren,, saved the back

Update on stolen lurchers in lincoln area
TOMO replied to burnie69's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Bad crack that burnie, let's hope with forums like this and face book ,, and other media that's these dogs can be found,,, wouldn't you just love to catch one of these c**ts red handed,,,, big deep hole dug in a wood,,, end of problem. You got to feel for tommy,,,he's going to feel real bad , cos he will be riddled with guilt cos he was looking after them , even tthough you know it's not his fault , and I'm sure Clive would never blame him,,, you just wouldn't be able to stop feeling guilty I know I wouldn't . -
Solid, sensible post that mate Agreed wilf,,, good post P.... It's something I try to do as well, lots of Dogs have shortcomins ,, but most lads won't admit to others, in fact they won't believe it themselves . You can often work round faults,, just have to think different and work to the dogs strengths.
