longer the better for me,18 months 2yrs get the recall,and obidience right first,one tip that i will say tie your dog up for the first few bolted rabbits,makes a world of difference atb jamiew

i have a saluki/grey x beddy/whippet 23" i got her mainly for rabbits,shes a funny bitch though,always wimpering when she cant see me,bad eater,always looks under weight,even though she has good muscle tone,although she enjoys ferreting/lamping rabbits etc,she,s accidentlly met bigger stuff and blew me away,i would,nt swap her for the world but she aint easy,hope this helps atb jamiew

dont know about the best day but one i wont forget,we were kids and i netted all holes but the entry hole, told my younger brother to sit on it after id entered the ferret!2 or 3mins later i remember a rumble then my brother flying off the hole,and a fox flying out,we still laugh about it now,it was proberly 25yrs ago,atb jamiew

ferreted with a mrk1 and even a knotted line when i was a kid,but use a mrk3m now,and would manage without it,atb jamiew

Pups doing really well, you'll have to drop in and have a look at Sagar, He's 11months old now, i took him out on the lamp for the first time wednesday night he had 6 runs and caught 4 he messed about with the first but eventually retrieved it, the others he retrieved straight back. bloody hell i thought maggie was doing well,lol i will pop in il give you a ring atb jamiew

your dog just needs more time,just work on the basics,i was once told by a good source the longer you wait the better the dog,i usually find 18 months is usually about right atb jamiew

sounds like a collie x wood be ideal for the area you hunt,its not always about speed,and dont worry about houseing, the lurcher will fit in anywhere,if you,ve never had a lurcher before you,ll be suprised,with my bitch you would,nt even know she was there in the day,but as soon as i whistle her in a certain way her whole posture changes, atb jamiew

if you want carp and cats look up dream lakes or le quis, but i think its an all in job,if you want big cats you want the ebro in spain just awsome no nights tho, atb jamiew
