  1. What the feck is a kennel hand job? Look under misc adds.....
  2. Well said I agree with you 100% Hunting people and dog fighters should never be associated together Edit> I agree this guy is going to be looking over his back for a long time though
  3. They look good boots One of my mates has size 14 feet and he is 16 Its just wrong
  4. have just bought one could only afford the one collar mind ... will have to stick just the one down for now, have plenty of time My mate only has the one collar and he uses it on his hob. Works the jill and if it kills he enters the hob and digs to that location. Almost like a liner without a line. I dont do it, I only work mine with collars. If I feed the ferrets before I go out I have never had to dig, but they dont seem as devoted in working though. Good luck ferreting H&J
  5. My dogs live in, but If I get anymore then I will consider getting kennels. If I do I will get CCTV and locks etc. I do like having dogs around the house, good company and they dont talk back...
  6. Your right mate, its a great book. Ive got a few of his books. The original " cook on the wild side" book is apparently rare now! i used to absolutely love hugh , but he has started to go a bit "commercial" now, with his restaurants etc. Come back the old hugh, foraging for food in the hedgerows etc His programmes were OK. They were abit misleading though, making out he was living off the land and all gis income coming from the produce etc They dont mention that he had a very successfull book before the program which must have raked him in a few bob Couple more weeks and I think
  7. I feed myxi both to my dogs and ferrets. Its 110% prooved that it is safe to do so. Only rabbits are affected by it. Dont let your squeemishness get in the way of your dogs or ferrets getting a good quality diet. I would sooner feed a myxi rabbit than a bowl of dry food
  8. Not sure if your joking or not lol but I cant stand them 4z nets, dont know how people put up with em. cant beat them for holding the rabbits though. its just everything they touch they allso hold!! Yeh, there a nightmare round here where most the flaces we ferret are hedge rows/bramble patches etc.
  9. Not sure if your joking or not lol but I cant stand them 4z nets, dont know how people put up with em.
  10. We should rename this place thehuntingwife.com
  11. They just get knocked around more They are nice ferts mate, have you bred the size down yourself or you get them from someone? The guy I got my pup from breeds a line of tiny ferrets.
  12. What is a shaped net mate? Did you make them?
  13. Just go for the head with rabbits. I have shot rabbits in the parts on LL's diagram and its not as simple to say they will die if you hit them there etc. I have had some stone dead, some will still be alive. I only go headshots now. I find birds are ok with head/neck. Some say wing joint shots are also fine, never tried it though.
  14. I see them quite regular when I am fishing, they swim around the lake. Didnt know they were rare. Edit: Heres a pic
  15. Ok. I'll type this Ve e e e ry Slowly. Ok? In uk - All of it. Wales, Scotland, Ulster too - it's 100%, right off the chart ILLEGAL to use ANY form of snare for ANY sort of bird, under Any conditions, by ANYONE. Period. There are No exceptions. No lisences. No permissions. No 'rights'. Been on the statute books since 1954. Get caught setting snares for birds and they'll throw the book at ye. Ok? Now I'll f*ck off and put my time to a better use. There's really nothing more I can say, is there? Except maybe; Pul Eeease don't go and be a c*** and give the Anti's yet another loaded stick
  16. f*****g hilarious Fox cross dog Even funnier, you believed them
  17. Hancocks the obvious one, whether you want to go to him or not is your choice Edit: shitty spelling
  18. Now that might be classed as a 'cage trap' so could be OK Thats more like it So is it 100% illegal to snare pheasents, even if you had permission to do so?
  19. Definitly let us know hwo you get on scuba. Ditch, I doubt I will be using any snares to catch pheasents. To many dog walkers and doo gooders about, far too risky. I may give the one poacherjoe said ago on a mates small farm, where it would be safe to use. I saw this trap on "old ways of the poacher 2" by the warrener. Just interested me Another type of pheasent trap I like the look of is the 'stove pipe' trap. Just a foot long piece of pipe (6" diameter I think? ) with one end covered in mesh. Then leave a trail of corn going into it and apparently the pheasent will walk in but
  20. I will be covering mine in woodshavings. Easy to change, clean and wont hold fleas/ticks like some straw will.
  21. Wow thanks for all the info everyone , john b especially Might give that ago poacher joe, suppose thats abit more legal? so long as I have permission to take pheasents?
