  3. i got one right here bred from working stock dam from the welsh hills and the sire a big bold and brave nz huntaway,both sire and dam now work a herd in the next village and my boy has had his share of bunnies mostly bushed he also flushes to a gun ,fur and feather retrieves and enters the water without a thought,not the best looking lad but works a treat.

  13. i was born and raised on a farm in kent and can remeber watching the hares in the field opposite my old mans and listen to him talk about the days when the place was alive with them,and him always seeing badgers on his night time excursions when he was younger.and the tales of days bird nesting and the huge bags of rabbits after a days ferreting,as i grew up and started to follow in his footstepsthe amount of wildlife was noticeably poor.over the last ten years or so the owner of the farm my dad and i work has gone into organic growing and setting aside large areas of land for wild grasses and

  16. thanks everyone and hello t cant wait for the harvest the permission is mounting up,just had a couple of hours out 2 more for the pup and home.i guess im just thinking off the coming season i will have some stiff competition as a few of the lads have some very handy dogs coming on and as we run for kebabs and a pint or two i dont want to be known as the meal ticket like one of the lads was a couple of years back.
  17. cheers lads probably worrying over nothing,just looking to the future as some of the land i work requires a good amount of pace,i chuffed to bits with him so far and wouldnt change him for the world
  18. my pup is at the 9 month mark and has had a few rabbits ,he a crackin little dog that is jumping small stuff and retrieving,he is 20" and loves a bit of bushing as well,but i am worried that when winter sets in he wont be quick enough for the more experienced seasoned bunnies as all he has caught so far are adolecents in easy terrain for him i.e long tuffty grass.he looks to have a fair bit of collie in him(not 100% on his breeding)which i think maybe part of the reason,how much speed do you think he will get will it increase as he matures,i know he is only a pup but my mates pup is the same a

  20. i got a collie whippet grey he 9 months and 20" and has been there for a while now so maybe another inch or two over the next couple of months will do him,the outher dogs have been about the same stopping between 10 and 12 months
