Being Able To Shout Your Bitch/dog Out
aaron01 replied to bud9's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Best debate in a long time lads for my five pence worth a dog entered to fox should stay til dug no less dont get me wrong iv seen a few that just had a knack to bolting foxes but it is what happens when Charlie doesn't want to bolt that the questions are asked and for me there is only one answer a stayer be it a mute dog or a sounder a stayer is a stayer -
I have never seen the dog but I've heard good things if its the dog from Bangor

I always classed a broken coat on a Russell as a parson type not that it makes any difference but just what they get called around my area

the reason I commented is if you read the post he will take you out one night with the dog he is looking 500 for a real dog man will offer a good trail with no problem but someone maybe only into the game will go and part with good money before they have truly tested the dog and see what it's made of

i know the lad that owns her then. i believe the parents are good dogs . mother and son mating. down off a dog called soldier . am i right? soldier is a son of chisler he is a decent animal but wouldn't have a patch on his sire we put some work in front of him lol -
I don't know how youse lads get your prices for 350 he would need to be a real good lurcher with a two week trail the reason the dogs are as dear is because headers will pay that sort of money and as the old saying goes there is one born every minute

Patterdale colors? Whats the truth....

I don't think there is any strict rules in what you call a patterdale except in the show ring and money breeding -

Get a good locator spade shovel and a bit of permission the rest is trail and error if your lucky enough to find game to ground and the dog digs it fill your holes well with a good mound on top to allow for the filled hole to sink there is no quick route to being a digging man because every dig is different and you learn a bit more every time your out wether it's your first season or your twenty first

They are fair taking shape that brindle staff is a clinker

Had almost the same experience with a bitch from very old great fell bloodlines, first 3 digs didn't put a foot wrong, we were planning future pups from her, the lot, by the end of the season the only thing she excelled at was a antagonising the rest our kennel, she had to go. Many a terrier can prove & unprove themselves between 2 & 3 years old, it's hard to know where to draw the line sometimes...... sometimes a change of hands with a dog workes wonders its a mystery to me why but it defiantly happens[/ Yes definitely.....depending on what's happening in your kennel at the time,

My mate is digging to a red dog with a lot of parks blood I think his lines go back to jps Stanley dog though ash1 would be more knowledgeable about the wee dog so don't quote me on it as I might be mistaken the first dog I've seen from this sort of stuff and for a wee dog he is game on his work I've had the pleasure of digging to him twice in his first season and he was bang on he is into his second season now and flying
