Dog howling/barking constantly when i leave-HELP NEEDED
hutch6 replied to nat's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Try this book: ISBN 1-891767-05-4 1891767054 - AbeBooks I've used the techniques on everything from dogs that pace about the place all day to dogs that rip your walls down if you so much as turn your back on them and it works a treat. -
Wishing you and the dogs all the best and a speedy recovery.

I started by skinning and gutting. Then just skinning. Then just chucked them down.

Training classes are great for the dogs but if you've never been they are also good for your own training methods (providing you go to the right classes i.e. no smacking or forcing or using negative reinforcement methods with prongs, lead jerks and spray collars). Not only does your dog learn the basics whilst there it learns them under an intense environment with loads of other dogs and people as distractions where as when you train at home you probably do it in a quiet environment with just you and the dog, you then take the dog out and wonder why it runs off to other dogs or gets distra

Dog howling/barking constantly when i leave-HELP NEEDED

Have you tried leaving a radio on? It's a big change in circumstances and dogs like a good routine so it more than likely the strange new surroundings etc. Do you walk her on a morning to get her energy down a bit and help her relax a bit more? You could go down the crate training route so she has her own place to feel secure in during the periods you are not there instead of having a big new area to try and deal with. IS the new place a house or a flat? -

Main ingredients - Cereal, animal derivatives (mashed up lips and arseholes) and beet pulp (another cereal). Feral dogs don't hang around bakeries or the local Kellogs factory as their intestinal tract isn't long enough to deal with cereals so they go in one end and out the other which means in Beta they are only really able to try and get their full nutrition from about 20% of the food. This in mind is enough to tell you why some people's dogs will try and eat their own waste - they are severly lacking in nurishment and probably starving. Whatever your budget there is always a better

Teach an old dog new tricks?
hutch6 replied to bighairysasquatch's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Get a long line (not an extentable leash) - about 15m - and a harness for him. The long line allows him to have his freedom in the brush etc (just not thick brush where you spend more time unatngling the line from under branches etc) but if he flushes you can lock the line so he can't give chase, you can then call him or give him a little encouragement to come back to you by pulling him towards you and reward him for coming back by either a bit of food or sending him back to scurry. The trick to using a long line is to never allow any slack so the dog can get up moment so it take sa bit of -
Better plant arrangement on the second one and better looking turf.

This is from 2010 and the Webeurope company no longer exists but Mr Winn has another business registered to his name called easycms.co.uk (another web hosting company). Seesm like he had to hide as best he could when these comments were made.

So picket and post about folks getting married in registry offices, masonic lodges, hotels, country estates and the old trip to Vegas for an Elvis impersonater. Do they not mock the religious ceremony that is holy matrimony - marriage? What about the folks that enroll at church, attend a few services, speak with the vicar and then get to have a church wedding without being a practicing catholic or christian? Are these examples not on the same playing field as gay marriage as they are after a mock up of a religious ceremony just not done in the name of a lord or in the hous eof God and if they

No baw, I am very much a fan of the female form but I guess if you wanted to make out I was gay you could say I was a lesbian trapped in a man's body. I always said mate if I was born a woman, I'd be a lesbian. f**k that going with men, ugly, hairy, smelly fuckers. Woman smell nice, soft skin, lips, beautiful faces, hair...... Why the f**k anyone man or woman wants to go out with guys is beyond me!!!! Which set of "lips" are you referring to? :D

Good post and one that I agree with lots of, however lets have one thing right homosexuality is not " natural", what it is is an anomalie to be exact......true it harms no one and certainly not me but I don't think that I need to be labeled narrow minded because I don't want it being presented as part of what I consider a sacred right in my traditional church. I don't believe in legalising drugs either, but that's just my opinion. Being a peado is not normal but you wouldn't consider making it legal would you!!......at what point do we as a society stop thinking everything's ok? If

So Paulus does that mean you are against medical care for babies that would otherwise not survive if they were not given life giving treatment? I say this because if you think about it medicine has helped the human race live longer and overcome more things that would otherwise polish us off meaning that now weakened genes and genes that cause deformities in what we have become accustomed to as "the normal way a human should look" are being able to be spread through the human race by breeding. If a baby is born premature then they are given treatment and care to keep it alive whereas otherwise

I love how folk label it as "not natural" or label themselve's as "normal" as if one day a person wakes up and decides to be be homosexual as the general day to day is boring them. Homosexuals are born, created within the womb and for all you "NORMAL" folk out there don't you think it's funny how only a hetrosexual relationship can produce homosexual offspring? If you don't want to have homosexuals in "God's world" then stop f-ing women and creating homosexual offspring. Take the path God would want you to in order to stop creating these "unnatural" beings. If they love each other enou

If you take any breed of dog and put it to work as a show dog it will still have the same instincts as it's working counterpart, they may be subdued to an extent but how do you get a beagle to be a show beagle without breeding two beagles? The same goes for any other breed of dog. A more interesting question would be when was the last time you saw a rottie herding, afterall, that is what the breed was initially intended for yet they are used as guard dogs or dogs of war? When was the last time you heard of a bulldog being used on farms or in abbatoirs or at auctions? Why don't they use Newfoun

Crate Training and My Fun and Games
hutch6 replied to Gaz_1989's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Top tip from littlefish - I chucked an old duvet cover over my crate when I was fostering so the only opn bit was the front. Why does this work? Well think of it this way, if you were to be left alone in a new place would you rather be left in a large open expanse with weird shadows, strange lighting, loads of stuff to take your frustrations out on or would you rather be in a smaller area with only one direction to defend and worry about? I once tried this once, because I am sad and want to get inside my dog's head, and it bored me to tears after about 40mins. Go to an empty bedroom, make -
lurcher won't stop pulling
hutch6 replied to Bullhunter's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Your dog pulls for one reason and one reason only - it wants to get to something as quickly as possible. If you allow the pulling and go along with the dog pulling, the dogs gets to what it wants on it's own terms so is rewarded for pulling. This makes the dog pull harder. There is a £20 note nailed to a fence 50yards away from you. You can't get to it because you are tied to a heavy tire unless you pull. You pull that tyre with all of your mite and get the reward of the £20. Now you are tied to something that will not move unless you are at the side of it, the £20 note is 400yards aw -
I will agree to disagree.

It's an action directly connected with energy, over excitement and play as Casso says. Nothing to do with dominance as my castrated male collies mount eac hother as does my spayed long bitch. It usually occurs after a bit of argey bargey leg biting and neck grappling. If you dog is doing it as soon as it gets the chance then it needs to be taught that it isn't an acceptable behaviour. You are doing this by putting it back ont he lead - negative reinforcement - and the dog that is being mounted will put the dog in it's place and teach it some manners. There is nothing better for teacing a d

RAW. Do not give a dog cooked chicken bones as they splinter and can cause a whole manner of damage to the mouth and intestines.
