    It's funny how there are loads of stalkers with no access to deer would give their right arm for stalking ground ,yet people with plenty deer arent interested. Wish I had loads of deer to be a chore ?

    I appreciate each to their own , foxing is top of my list but still enjoy stalking. There are very few foxes on my grounds at the minute could do with some more. What species of deer do you have as we only have roe here unfortunately?

    Well done , I shot a fully grown dog cub last night. Set up with caller and had him rushing in in around 4 mins ,dropped him at 50 yds. No pic as phone battery flat.

    What a lucky man to have access to that amount of deer , and an endless supply too ?

    We can give it a try , you know how exciting calling foxes is well imagine a roe buck running in , gets the heart pumping.?

    Yep learnt that lesson a long time ago , only shoot if comfortable with the shot. Give me a shout during the rut and I will come with the Buttolo and see if I can call you one in , now that's exciting ?

    The only person that can answer that question is the man behind the rifle when the shot presents itself. Obviously side on is preferable but if you decide to take the shot shooting just below the chin drops it instantly as does straight between the eyes . I have done both these shots with success but be aware that if you happen to shoot the deer in the nose you may well have an injured deer to follow up , again I have seen this happen. You must decide do you need to shoot the deer or can you wait for another opportunity?

    I've never had a 100 bird day on woodies but always dreamed of it . Dont go shotgun shooting very often so was over the moon to smash the ton. Funny how it happens when least expect it , I was expecting to bag up on the blacks ?

    Received a call Friday from a farmer saying hundreds of pigeons and crows on the wheat. I thought I would have a look to do some recce for Saturday, there was hundreds but right in the middle of the field on a flat patch. I was set up for 4.30 am with my hide in the middle of the field just off the flat patch. First bird was shot at 5am and last bird shot at 5pm - a 12 hour shift. I was absolutely knackered but well worth it as I shot my PB 229 birds - 175 woodies & 54 jackdaws for 295 shots. Excuse carp pic as couldnt pick all birds and after a 12 hour session wasnt going to display them

    Only ever saw 1 pine marten and that was near Callendar, out stalking and it jumped up on to a tree stump , thought it was a fox cub at first.
