  1. Nice pics! What was that the birds were feeding on?
  2. I like them. They are a little tricky to fillet with those Y bones. But a nice firm meat in the winter. They say the farther away from their spawn time is the best for eating. So that would around September - October over here. But mostly I hunt then. ATB
  3. Despite the appearance thats all fresh water. But I do spear pike through the ice in Michigan.
  4. Not this year. (It's generally famous for large Whitetail Bucks.)
  5. Heading west in the UP Lake Superior on a bad day. Little Grassy River Ontario ca. The Departed.
  6. Nice pics! We are seeing a lot of MAST crop as well after all the rain we had this summer. Hard winter? Bring it I say.
  7. Just build a decent insulated dog house with straw or some other bedding. Your dog will be fine. Here's something to give you an idea what size to make. http://leerburg.com/doghouse.htm My Lurcher prefers a flat top as he spends most of his time lying on the roof. ATB
  8. We use those at work. I'm not a big fan as I find them lacking compared to my DSLR. I think for someone on a vacation (holiday) it would be fine. I hope she enjoys the Big Apple. ATB
  9. It was built in the 30's, and is used as a rest room, and warming house for ice skaters, and hockey players in the winter. I've always liked the slate roof, and the design of it. Used to use it myself when I was a young fellow. ATB
  10. dytkos, that was the Works Progress Administration. They did public works and provided jobs for unemployed men. They did some pretty nice work all in all. Thanks for looking.
  11. Warming house built during the Depression by WPA Fall colors New Memorial for First Responders in my County. Makowski, and Torkos were classmate of mine in the Academy. RIP
  12. This sounds right to me. I use white, orange, and black/white. I've been led to believe, and never researched, that dogs see orange as white. But my wirehair seems to see the black/white ones the best. The others he finds by nose it seems. ATB
  13. Nice pics! First and third for me.
  14. my brother got bit by our old dalmatian when he was kid, he ened up in AE. few stitches but badly brused, 20 times worse tha on that vid, if 3 yotes really attacked him he would be 100% worse than that or dead .!! The wounds are not all that convincing. But I could see where his behavior might have put them off. Especially if they were looking for a dog, our perhaps a deer. They are not generally looking for a fight just a meal. ATB
  15. I have a wirehair, and while i don't have an allergy to him. He has the wiry coat which produces an oily substance. This may aggravate your allergies. Don't worry though, no body will make fun of your poodle
  16. We call them treestands. I think there are alot of advantages to using one. Improved visability being a great one. Another is that your shots are angled down. Just remember to adjust your shot so that your bullet passes through as opposed to below the vitals. I have a summit viper that I like very much. ATB
