  1. I have an Ultrafire 501 which I have modified with an ARHorton lens kit. Clearly shoots out to 200yrds. Don't need any more range. All for 45 quid
  2. I am not convinced that an FAC has any advantage over .22lr. If you don't need the full power of standard subs you can use CB longs which have similar speed to FAC air and a bit more umph.
  3. Worth putting a tracker in them
  4. I would be surprised if you get a CF for that reason.
  5. Yes ask them, but you may get a clue from what you have on your ticket. Do you have rimmys or CF?
  6. .223 for the fox, if you have permission over suitable land. They may be a bit iffy about giving you a 223 centrefire straight away and may want you to cut your teeth on rimmys for a couple of years. In which case go for a 17hmr which will do the longer range things the .22lr will not touch. ATB
  7. They use to to have an older gent there who did the smithing on Air guns. He sorted out my FAC Diana 52 in good style. Anyone have his details, wouldn't like to lose his contact. Please PM me if you have details
  8. Can't fault the FEO who comes to me. Great guy.
  9. Yep mine is a digital and about 30 quid. Does the job and the FEO didn't give it a second look. Bolted to the wall.
  10. I use a .223 ona golf course for fox, but I would be careful before just picking up a .223 and going out to pot a fox on a golf course. If you are only experienced with an AR it is like moving from a Reliant Robin to a Ferrari and you will certainly need some practice. I doubt that the golf course will be happy for you to use their land as a practice ground.
  11. Good picture mate. Not so rare, I have them too. Fascinating to watch.
  12. Problem with the quad is the need to re-zero every time you change barrel. I just like to open the safe pick out a gun and know it will be bob on when I step out to use it. If the first thing you have to do when you get to your ground is check zero everything around will have got the message and will be keeping its head down.
  13. Try early morning. 5.30 it is light but they should still be around. Try baiting a safe area with feed to bring them into an area where you can snipe them from cover.
  14. Both .22rf and 17hmr will kill anything with the right shot placement and if you are close enough. 17hmr is easily able to do a fox out to 70 yrds. Advantage of fox is that you can usually bait it in to a spot within range and use the 17 if you have fox on your ticket. The .223 is a big step up from a rimmy and I doubt whether you would get it approved on your ticket until you have experience with the rimmys. Best of luck. Have you tried Valley Arms in Ruthin. Great guys and really helpful.
