  6. Ive got a friend with a beddy/fell x whippet /grey. 18 months and keen as mustard, puts 100 percent in but yaps like feck. Is it worth watching to see how he comes on-is it hereditary-im thinking this because I have a very good bitch I would of put him too if he stayed good for a couple of years, but the yapping worries me to much. He also has a good sibling that doesnt yap but if its hereditary im gonna steer clear of him too. A shame because otherwise hes a nice dog

  8. In my opinion ANY dog can be put into lean healthy day to day condition.......but i dont think you could get a showbred ebt into peak condition the way you would put a bulldog through a keep.....i just dont think they have the physical or mental ability ......a dog bred with the aim of prancing round a showring will have had athletic physical qualities sacrificed for " a look "......not just a silly shaped head and dense bones etc......but also the things you cant see with the eye elastcity/flexibility of joints/ligaments,tendon strength etc etc......right down to inherent lung power.....the d

  10. The book is about AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIERS... NOT ENGLISH BULL TERRIERS Thanks for putting that in capitals, NOW READ PAGES 5-16 if you have got the book. Cheers
  11. Eugene glass wrote a book called 'the sporting bull terrier'. It will show you evidence to the contrary.
  12. Sorry I read that wrong, but still I see this a post that doesnt now the breed. They can be all the things you say a worker should be.

  14. this is a prob ive had with my two recently, both are in there second season, plenty of road work. Its been one leg not both though after a course. one of my dogs was so bad i thought shed broke it. she was prescribed loxicom, 17ml once a day. she ways 17kg. sound as pound one hour later. I gave it 10 days and let her free run. All seems ok now. i did write a post asking if anyone bandages before coursing as i think ive seen this before. Both legs does sound as if it may down to bony changes, at 15 months you may still find the growth plates are not set yet in that area and could be suffe
  15. Cheers peps, I claim no credit for these dogs in the latest photos. They belong along with the kennels to the breeder at thunder rock kennels. Ive only put them up because I like them so much myself.

  18. I think 3 miles at fast pace is sufficient. Any more detracts from there real job. I have done more miles but dont think it achieves anything cardiovascular wise. Just takes weight off. But its all better than nothing. I do 3 miles at around 12 min. Flirt pole helps I reckon in big loops, nothing to tight.
