  1. I'm a farrier so understand horse conformation, the vet wrap is slightly elasticated. Blood flow could be an issue, I thought I'd seen it on pictures of coursing dogs. Thanks for it opinion
  2. Sky cat would u suggest light support bandages whilst working, if so, would u use Vet wrap with cotton wool underneath ? It's something I've been considering as it's the second leg she's done
  3. My bitch has the same problem, it's been 6 weeks, she's been on metacam and is on walk ex till OCT, I have to watch her as she can't keep still but gentle ex and a big fingers crossed
  4. Speed is not to bad, she's quite capable, as for who bred her, I'm not sure but I know they came from Durham about 3 yrs ago
  5. I don't see the point in long distances next to the bike, 3 miles with sprint intervals, reducing the rest/ trot periods as they get fitter, that will surpass distance work in prep for the field
  6. My two, ready and rarin to go, I can't wait much longer !!!
  7. She's 22" and has worked really well so far, no complaints from me with this bitch
  8. Getting her ready, her third season and hoping for a gooden. Good luck to all
  9. Good confirmation will not create winners, it will help them win again and again, the fact that conformation in badger trials was not important depicts to me that it was not that extensive a trial, after all terriers and launchers with pluck are capable I believe. Whilst I don't doubt the what you say you saw with the EBTs in trials I would like to question how many were from pet/ show homes and how many were bought from breeders who breed best to best repeatedly. I think most would be the disregarded pet I think. Like anything bred with continuous breeding from best to best the optimum can be
  10. The conformation for a more capable EBT is still around, it's far from the show bred animals of this century and also far from the drawing dogs we are being shown. The original dog bred by Hinks is still here in type, far more hound like in conformation in my opinion and all the better for it. The pics of bull terriers put up, some taken down by moderators show them working, of good structure and of friendly disposition. A perfect running partner for a man, and not bad for anything else it puts its mind too if raised correctly. A crap animal? I don't think so, a bull breed to by proud of? Dam
  11. I'm struggling altogether reading peoples opinions of a bull terrier. The dogs put up in Carlovians pics were very badly conformed animals imo, I don't wish to offend but the pics are there for all to see. Strongstuff said that a bull terrier just needs to hold and reverse. And it's obvious thats all these dogs were bred for, there not Ebts by any stretch of the imagination. The dogs that exists in India and Pakistan and were the pride of the British isle, taken there by the world's most formidable fighting force with pride. That was an all round capable animal, not a pit dog, not a drawing an
  12. Not my dogs so no credit here, just put the pics up for someone
  13. Again, pics for a friend, hunting photos were taken legally on the continent.
  14. Superb, I can vouch for this, however they are strong and I wouldn't let the kid or the dog take the piss, simple really
  15. Lol no argument from me, u know the answers already
  16. I also see no problem with owning a dog from working lines as a pet/running companion. Paras running is obviously hard-core and I doubt most working animals would be conditioned in this way, good luck in your search. A better companion you couldn't get mate
  17. I don't suppose anyone needs to disclose where, but I know they are there, seen it and believe it, crAcking dogs with more heart than most could deal with. It's also credit to the breeder that not everyone knows about them or owns them. Stunning animals bred with good ethics.
