  1. My pal John has a daytime dog that is THE most accident prone dog ive ever known, she has more stitches than a patchwork quilt. When she gets stitched up now she just rolls over and lets you get on wit it Her problem is she tries too hard, has no reverse gear and doesnt know her limits... When you see her try to clear a barbed wire fence, with another at the far side of the hedge, you just cringe FTB
  2. I ferret a huge estate in Dumfries and dont get on till March. once the seasons by. Still got a few days left to do, it's a total pain in ther hoop but it keeps the door open for my other activities and it's not bad when you get paid to do it. Too hot, sweat like a pig, end up digging all day, covers up, go through shells like it's going out of fashion on youngsters and to top it off you forget your sun tan cream and come back like a lobster . Take ferreting on a frosty winters morning any day. FTB
  3. only a pair of bellends would consider using it for digging like u pair
  4. I was going to start one asking if it was possible to set a gin trap so it catcthes badgers - but only by the testicles. I decided against that one too. FTB
  5. you idiot this site needs shuttin down cos were you pricks come from is unbelivable FLATCAP speaks the most sense on this site. Guys a hero. FTB
  6. id snap that over my knee on perpose if u pulled that out in my company dude Why? Only a total bellend would do something like that. FTB
  7. Best one I heard was when the lads were wrecked one of them went upstairs for a sleep so the others decided to cut the plastic wad and shot out of a cartridge and give him a fright...12 bore going off next to you at 3 O'clock in the morning is never good. Not so much embarrasing as down right feckin dangerous FTB
  8. DABCHICK... What do you use the horn for out of interest?. Or do you do a fair bit of work with the hunt. FTB

Harsh, maybe... But the lad still needs to get an education under his belt, if only to understand and fill in the endless forms required for just about everything these days, and to read up on all the weird things that can happen to gamebirds etc. Practical experience is most important, but getting it is the tricky bit. Proving you have knowledge of the theory, and do actually have the capacity to absorb knowledge might help secure a place on a decent estate. I dont think he is taking about jacking school to become a useless dole scrounge - only to do a bit of summer and weekend wor
  10. What age was she? Just out of interest... FTB
  11. That was seriously funny. Part 2 is just as good. FTB
  12. Thats if we are talking earthdogs which I presume we are? FTB
  13. it wasn't on here the guy just offered after i posted if anyone had one for sale ,he's not someone i know but he's done me a great favor by giving me this dog for free i just wanted to know y it seems to be that all the best workers are free Wouldn't say all though. You can put two of the best together and still end up with shit - some of it is down to chance and genetics. Even the best breeding wont produce 100% workers, which is a common misconception. Best bitch I have wasnt free, I paid 200 quid for her... FTB
  14. Friend has a pointer cross lab that retrieves shot foxes. One of the best all round dogs you can have does foxes, tracks deer, flushes and retrieves grouse, pheasants etc The cross you mentioned sounds a bit pointless to be brutaly honest with you... FTB

Bit harsh for a 14 year old. lol I think he is wanting a job helping a gamekeeper btw. FTB
  16. Go back and carve a dick on it...you know you want to FTB
  17. Its usually because the people who give dogs away to good working homes dont put monetery value on the dogs = not interested in showing and breeding for profit = more graft for the dogs = better working strain. If all you are focused on is producing good workers and testing them, it is inevitable you will end up with some decent stuff. Focus your attention on £ or hunting for rosettes and you will get shite. Just my opinion FTB
  18. The best first lurcher will be one you buy as a pup and rear yourself. It will be a learning experience. Most crosses will do rabbits but the best rabbiting lurchers I have seen have always had a bit of whippet. Collie/grey/whippet would do the trick, as long as the parents are grafters I dont think you will go too far wrong. Whippet beddy also great wee rabiting dogs. FTB
  19. If shes keen on swimming and retrieving take her to a river with a MILD current. Get her to swim upstream against the current - this is the same idea as pool and saves you some dosh (I know a greyhound trainer that has one). Although this will not solve the problem entirely, it will help to form muscle much quicker than you can doing road walk - it also takes the weight off the pups feet. Once a good level of muscle has been established you can start taking her small but often walks and monitor her process. Gaining physical fitness in dogs should always be a gradual process - dont rush the pu
  20. It's no as funny as this one clit. I nearly shit myself laughing first time I seen it FTB
  21. I bet when the firearms officer asked "do you ever drink"... "no, no sir absolutely never " Bunch of drunks the lot of you! FTB
  22. Whats goin on between you two? Are you both brothers looking for work or something? FTB
  23. If you know of any local pheasant shoots ask the keeper if he wants some help during the summer in return for beating or a wee bit of rabbiting. Thats how I started out, your never too young to start learning. FTB
  24. Not asking for much then No offence mate but thats a wee bit forward, if not cheeky. I'm sure some farmers would give you some ground to do your thing on if you offer them a free hand labouring or doing wee jobs. Hope some kind person on here offers this wee man a hand to get started the right way - if you were near me I'd have you out no questions asked. All the best! FTB
