    I've got a new large plantation that ive been flattening deer on for a while. It would be very short sighted and hypocritical of me to say "no I wont cull your deer because I will loose my sport". In relation, I have been on highland estates where 20+ red are shot day in day out, to get the heather back and consequently the Red Grouse. Deer are vermin in certain situations and I dont know the situation you are describing but maybe there is a reaon for the cull. On my other permissions I only take a few here and there as they are not so much of a problem. Everything in moderation.

If it's the later, cheers for your input, but I was really looking for replys from people who have had first hand experience. Just because its the latest fashion - doesnt mean it's the be all and end all... FTB

    Good to hear that some people still stay loyal to the working strain. I for one think it would be a real shame to loose the working bloodline from types such as this. I know they were highly regarded for a different type of quarry. FTB

    Is there any decent game bred Kerry Blue terriers or kerry blue lurcher strains left? Its a cross Ive never seen work in the flesh, but my pal John who is from Irish origin claims they were up there with some of the best - as keen as you like.     That's a bloody good idea if I may say so. It's little things like that, that make a lot of difference when your lugging around tools and holding onto dogs that are eager to get to graft, when you've got quite a foot slap a head of you. You could get your own line of Shovels with the fitted probes going? If they're as good as you say, you could bang them out on here, like other lads do with Terrier Boxes and SS does with the Collars and leads.
