The same thing has happened to mine. Not quite as bad as that, but I would be interested to know what it is caused by as well. I was guessing it was just to do with the time of year. Maybe a simillar thing to some lakeland terriers losing fur on there noses & tails in the summer months.
I've just got a new shotgun. Not sure of the make but a lovely gun for just a tenner. Seeing as I just got it I had a half an hour walk around my permision at about 8.00pm to test it out. I walked through some marshland to a grass field where I noticed the rabbits were behaving strangely. Obviously there was a fox about so I had a quiet walk around the small cops of trees in the centre of the field. I didn't see anything untill I got to the wood that runs up to the field where a young fox sneaked into the undergrowth. I sat still and gave a couple of squeks untill he returned. Oblivious
Mine have been back to Le Chameau twice now. They repaired them the first time but the second time just replaced them. I love the boots but must say that they aren't the best for walking long distances. I have also found them straining my calf muscles especialy when walking steep hills. Probably wouldn't buy another pair, but they'll do for now & at least they look the business.
I catch the rabbits at my youngests school, the headmaster and staff are brilliant, i ferret the playing fields and boundary hedges twice a year, when i ring the school secretary to say when iam coming she gives me a order for dressed rabbits for staff and parents ,the money raised goes into the kitty for the upkeep of the poultry sheds and vedgetable plots etc.micky
Thats how it should be Micky. Good to hear. Thats how it should be :clapping:
Thought as there was a competition for teriers on the forum it would be a good idea to have one for lurchers too.
Here's my old dog. The late Snatch. ( no room for a lurcher at the mo)
The pic was taken last year when I specialy took my camera out to try and get a picture of her putting one up in some fields where there are mountains of them. Just ten mins before I took this pic, she actualy caught one that was sitting tight but let go of it (useless animal). My reactions just weren't quick enough with the camera. I was then miffed that I didn't get it on the camera so went in persuit of another one and managed to get this blury snap. P.S terriermen reading this, just a bit of fun, and I know I should be hunting some real quarry with my terrier.
A lad from Kenton used my hob to cover his jill a few weeks ago so he should have some. He was meant to offer me a kit but never got back to me. I'll try to get intouch with him and get back to you on it.
