  5. I'm so pleased for you mate. Its such a happy feeling. I lost my hob about 6 weeks ago in a massive earth, which I was silly to ferret. I set a trap, left his box there and visited four times a day. This went on for 3 days untill he was been spotted in a garden of a cottage that was located in a large wood 1/2 a mile and across a busy road from where I had lost him. It was still unlikely that I was going to find him. I started to check the sheds and out buildings but there was no joy. I spotted a scruffy greenhouse that was 20 yards from the sheds and aproached it. When I entered
  6. I've never personally used a rabbit as a decoy. It is a thought though and might be worth a try, although i've never heard of anyone doing it. Your best bet is just being well cam'd up and being quiet.
  7. What type of tips are you looking for? Find a rabbit and shoot it, prefrebly in the head.

    can sombody

    5 miles in 30 mins = 10 miles in 60 mins, 60 mins = 1 hour, which equals 10 miles per hour
  9. Credit to the lad. Hope he can get his £400 back though. Happy hunting for the new season! I think my pals dog is related to Rocky, "Quiz" she's called.
  10. Pleased to hear you got him back How was he found?
  11. Go and catch it and post a pic of it!!!
  12. Trials, mountain biking, photography.
  13. Rick's dog is it?. I'll keep a look out and my ears open. Hope you find him.
  14. This type of thing really anoys me. I shoot, hunt, ferret etc. I think the main problem is like Fathom said is "respect your quarry". Real terrier/Lurchermen respect there quarry, in the way of breeding seasons, only taking a healthy number of vermin and game, and really just looking after the land. I understand there are some shooters out there also think alike, but unfortunately the majority only care about one thing, Game Birds. Any other wildlife doesn't matter in their eyes. Where I live some shooters are out two to three times a week persecuting foxes. Some give and tak
  15. Looks like a good day you had. Do your terriers not make a mess of your nets if they get to the rabbit before you?

    POEM

Good one [bANNED TEXT]! I really like this piece of writing from one of j.darcys books i think. not a poem but well written. A terrier crawls into the earth and deliberately places himself in the greatest possible danger. He forces his way into uncomfortable situations which may cost him his life. He strives to get into close proximity with his oponent , and when he does, he makes life extremely difficult for that opponent. He barks, he bites, he nips, he holds, he bolts or he kills. Sometimes, he himself loses his life. Why? Why? A working terrier does not do all this to feed himsel
  22. 410 is a good choice. I had one when I was about that age & could hit everything! I stopped shooting for a while and am now shooting with a twelve bore & can't hit jack sh*t
  23. Bad idea! Ferret constantly wound up, Rabbit constantly terrified! Done the best thing getting shot of the bunny.
  24. Good read If only it could be like that now
