  1. pipes, ropes wit knots in hung up from the roof, trousers hung up, hanging baskets, branches so they can climb up, old boots and definately cardboard boxes
  2. i have pm'ed chris as well i am near langport i didnt realise there was many people near me. we could have quite the ferreting team on the go
  3. i am at the same stage too my pup is 12 1/2 weeks and sitting well close in and walking on the lead well (he pulls at times but pups will i'm getting him out of that habit slowly) i want to build a storng recall ready for formal training at 5-6months ish. he respond really well to treats and i have just been using a few of his dry biscuits till now. is there a treat that i can give him, little ones for when he does well that he will really like and that doesnt break the bank? i heard of using cheese, is this right?
  4. is that a legality? so it legally has to be in an open run?
  5. christ your mrs really knows how to punish you
  6. how do you work that one out? as for the towelling coats they sound like they would just dry the top of the body leaving the legs and chest still cold and wet but thye look great quality
  7. thanks teapot, i think i will try and tied in the bagging first and see how i got on. still thinking of splitting for ferreting purposes though, and money wise i could get another longne fairly cheap as loe catcher is a great chap and sorted me out for a great price atb rob
  8. he is getting on really well thanks bud, i put some pics up a few days back
  9. god this longnetting is trickier than it first seems, i thought peg to peg covered it well but it seems it merely brushed the surface of a deeply complex subject atb i think i might break my 50 yard trad set down into 2 x 12yrd stops and a 26yrd longnet. i think with my level of skill these lengths will be more manageable to start off with and much more versatile for ferretingmy hazel poles are drying nicely. looks like i need to knock up some more pins atb rob
  10. the header tank is a great idea stubby, my only thought would be that the smaller the tank the ball valve was fitted to the fresher the water would be just a thought
  11. when you rig them in traditional fashion do you use a small set of end pins due to the little amont of net? on a tangent, does anyone have a link on a tutorial of how to tie sheet netting onto purse net rings? thanks atb rob I use the regular sized end pins as the mesh is the same size on both nets as for your second question I've never used sheet netting so cant help you there Y.I.S Leeview cheers for the reply leeview, it is just my endpins are currently 5 diameter ring so are quite bulky especially if i used them for 12yrd stop nets
  12. thats what i have been doing so far, well as much as possible being as my pup always wants to chew the towel, i have heard about people using heat lamps atb rob

  14. yes he will because you have one at each end , and they are for ferreting so plenty of rabbits will be hitting a short area (in theory ) so closely laid poles will help keep the net up. pole #1) 0yards #2) 5 yards 3# 10 4# 15 5# 20 6# 25 thank you, no teapot i do not profess to be an expert but i can do simple maths thanks
  15. whatmethods do you guys use to dry off a wet dog after work or just out training and exercising. i have been told to leave him by one chap and dry him off with a towel by another but i heard that this can rub the water into the inner fur making him colder. so whats best??? atb rob
  16. i like the fenn trap idea or fit a metal door knob and hook it up to the mains
  17. Like your method your using as a tealer, but not sure if your anchor would hold a big dog fox, however if it works then fair enough, good design though really like your set up being as its a rabbit snare i do not mind if it doesn't hold a big dog fox but i am going to try and snare some charlies soon and i was wondering about tealers and pegs for them. atb rob
  18. edited to say; the wormer was called milbemax and was from the vets sbut i might use drondal next time depending on if i can get it, how much is drondal by the way?
  19. thanks for all the kind comments guys. he sure is full of energy but very good, once he is biger i am thinking of getting him a weight pack to make him work harder when we walk as well as me taking up running a lot more. atb rob

  21. now you have the unpleasant job of examining their shit and bums for worms
  22. well the guy had a springer bitch as a gundog and a collie for hunting the cattle and nature tooks it course but he is an intelligent dog and is sitting and shittting on command (at a few metres) already and is bold as brass, sometimes get a bit too bold, but pups will be pups. his worm tablett is starting to take affect but the poor chap had them worse than i thought and still got screaming ab dabs keeping a close eye on him though and he is still happy and not losing noticable weight. hopefull he will be ok in a few days but if not hes going to the vetsjust to make sure.
  23. a couple of clearer ones of angus
  24. took a few more pics of the dog today hes 11 1/2 weeks now and i hae made him a new house in his run so the floor is now easier to clean and his bed will be warmer in the winter.
  25. cheers otc but my tealer loop is wound round twice so its already and a double part but i will try the other way too and see how they perform
