Not so sick really, she could be a granny in her 30's :tongue4:
  5. If you buy the Tesco value frozen portions it's only £2.50 for 2.5kg so that's about 45p per lb i think . Not bad really considering the amount good fleshy meat on them. Got myself one of those big mother hand mincers from Northern Tool the other day, i'll be looking forward to mincing up my next batch, probably stick raw veg through this time. Shepp
  6. How much does that set you back John?
  7. Hi everybody, I've just spent an hour today looking for insurance for my lurcher bitch. The best i could find was with Argos and it was there gold plan which gives cover of up to £2500 for each injury or ailment and has an excess of £50. It covers of heap of other situations such as third party and accidental damage. The cost of it is £7. per month or £94 a year. Thought i'd just share it with you all in case anybodys interested. 8. I've seen that with many other breeds too, supply and demand, more people want bitches, simple as that. There's also quite a big demand for borders so it pushes up the price, free market economy, it filters down to everywhere. If i was selling a litter of pups then i'd want the going rate unless it was to a friend, a good homes more important than cash but who the hell is going to give away pups to people they don't know. The person you give it to may just be a chancer and think well theres nothing to loose with this one for free and i can just sell it on.
  9. Fingers crossed :thumbs-up:
  10. Sounds excellent :tongue4: i'll be give that a go in a month or two
  11. I buy frozen tesco value chicken portions and mince them so i can mix in some veg, with her being unable to pick out what she wants, in fact she now quite enjoys veg. I use cabbage, carrot, turnip, brocolli and peas all of which i cook and mash up. I portion it up meat and veg seperate pack it into my used take-away plastic boxes and freeze it. When i feed her she gets 3/4 chicken 1/4 veg half a hand of mixer and half a tea spoon of vitamin powder. I also give her lamb bones and breast of lamb a couple of times a week, raw tripe from the pet shop mixed with veg as before and small tins of sa
  12. I spoke to this guy today, he is a friend of a friend who knows a bit about this guys and his dogs. He is a genuine chap and they sound like good pups, I spoke to him as i'm considering what type of bushing dog to get in the near future and if I decide on a border then I would be very interested in one from his next litter. By the way he has'nt been on here before because he has just been given a pc and has never used one before. Too many people on here circling around like a flock of vultures. Shepp
  13. I've got a 50/50 collie grey, not really known for there good looks. If they work well you soon forget about there physical appearance.
  14. It says the age on the post Oh yes nice looking dogs twelsh but are you sur the second dog is'nt 3/8 beardie border 5/8 Greyhound, it looks it. Hows there characters compared to each other, i've got a 50/50 and she's a real live wire.

  17. Don't suppose i'll see much down here with all the light pollution from London
  18. Hi Leveller, would they be classed as miniture, standard or does it not really count with working teckels? They look full of character
  19. A slightly more dried up looking bogey
  20. I'd go for a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie but spend a good amount of time looking for the right dog. There's collies and there's collies, i think a lot of the agility dogs are a bit too temperamental so look for one with farm collie in it. I've got a line bred collie grey which works out about 50/50 she's a very smart bitch but her energy levels are very high and she needs mental stimulation or she tears the place up. I think she'll be better when she starts hunting, in about six months time. Intelligence does'nt necessarilly mean easy to train, i think a smart dog can use it's intelligence to try
