I know what your saying Ditch, those log burners are so much more efficient, the whole lump heating up in the room. Also you can chuck any old spitting wood, mdf etc. I have the fire already and the house benefits from using a victorian style insert for future resale. I chose one that has a big burning area, is set well into the room and haas plenty of iron to heat up. I like the idea of a log burner in my kitchen, if i spend more time at home in the future, then i'll get myself one. I'll have an exposed steel chimney going up into a high apex ceiling too, so it would really kick out some

I just wondered if anybody on here has any knowledge on fitting an open fireplace. One thing that's puzzling me is that the inner edge of the stone surround is at least 2" away from the wall so i can't just fix the cast iron insert straight on the wall otherwise there will be a gap all the way round. Any advice will be welcome

Hounds have been selectively bred for hundreds of years to be pack dogs, lurchers and terriers are very much individuals. Saying that i kept two lurcher and one terrier bitches together and they never had a fight. My mate has three whippet bitches and they will kick off and try to kill one, normally without any warning. Light Sussex x Rhode Island Reds are good multi purpose birds. They have that bit extra hardiness because there a cross breed and look nice too.

Westies to me are furry icing bags, my neighbour looks after one and the brainless little shit arse will yap from morning till night Catapult and frozen peas seem to have done the trick though

Nice looking dogs and always good to keep an open mind on the various breeds. I met a guy from Sicily in a park while walking my collie/grey, he said they use a pure bred rabbiting dog that looks very much like mine. It surprises me that as a country with a long history of hunting that we have not ended up with good game catching pure bred running dogs. Whippet is a good rabbiting dog but was bred for racing and has it's faults, greyhound is not the best catch dog even on hares and that's it, back to lurchers. Shepp

I'm an electrician and found the college much better than school but there is a fair bit of maths. I don't know about Ireland but i'm offered more than double the amount of work i can possibly manage to do, all the plumbers i know are in the same boat. I have been working as my own firm for less than a year. You could do a lot worse. Shepp

Cheers Ditch, I've always liked all the other parts of the chicken more than the breast, much more flavour than a bland old breast. In SE Asia and China the wings are the most sought after and the breast they find hard to get rid of. Looking forward to getting a rabbit curry going in there.

Typical lefty fascist, think they automatically have the moral high ground, unfortunately they have most of the public sector jobs with teaching being no exception. Giving a political view point has no place in schools, hunting has probably kept a lot of young men away from drugs and gangs. Make a hell of a fuss, otherwise your hunting will go the same way as ours. Shepp
