  2. I'm not trying to say anything The story of the shot dog is news to me ,you said it was your dog, I thought you might like to tell us what happened.Up to you really , you posted referring to it,why should I care? I think he meant IF it was his dog. I'm pretty sure if someone shot one of his dogs he wouldn't be sat on here making threats. Lol. Oh yes, the spelling threw me, my mistake. Sorry Hubbs.

  4. It's news to me, would you care to enlighten us?
  5. Ahh, the defender has arrived. Sometimes when everyone else's position is opposite to your own it is as well to re-examine yours.
  6. Good recovery, thinking on your feet. it aint the first time he has backtracked he done it when he said he had shot a lads dog who was poaching his land Did he put the dog in a wooden box? It would seem an appropriate thing to do
  7. An honest man who learned the correct way to conduct himself
  8. That was lucky, you having that wooden box in your car. Why didn't we think to ask you if thats what you did with the hare? After all its common practice we all have custom made hare boxes in our motors for just such occurences don't we? I 'm just a bit puzzled as to why you didn't mention it in the original post? The one that went in the foxhole in my post was not so lucky,I dug to it ,chopped of one of its legs with my spade and threw it down for the dog to grab. So 4 out of 4 .It would have been re-located but I 'd forgotten my," hare- box" that day. By the way

  10. I won't intentionally run a dog in rape stalks, but once a dog is off, who knows where it will run its game?
  11. Getting them out and about as a pup around such obstacles helps a lot Phil, imo. But as Stat ,an old friend once said to me," they're only safe when they are on the lead".

  13. One of my dogs is in "The Hare And The Swift Hound," he was on 3 out of 3 on the fens , ran his 4th to a dyke, was right up its arse when it went in a foxhole. Two guys that are in the " A Passion For Coursing Book" witnessed it .Only time he ever did 3 out of 3 , a week later he dislocated his left leg he never ran a long ears again.
  14. When these people watch a coursing dvd and the commentator says," the hares piped," I wonder what they think he means?
  15. Or running them in several inches of snow.
  16. Magwitch and I used to shoot about 50 a night when we started controlling some orchards , we could have driven round again and shot the same amount if we had wanted to but didn't contenting ourselves with what we could use. Then, as you would expect the numbers gradually dwindled I think you have to strike a happy medium , shooting enough keep the farmer happy but leaving enough to make it worthwhile for repeat visits and to provide some sport . How long do you expect it will be before you are scratching to shoot 30? It's a question of balance imo. Knocking over vast quantiti
  17. I didn't realise you were in Jersey, which makes you right, and me wrong. My first post was facetious my second was not, because I didn't care for your reply . I've said I was wrong ,if you send that crow I'll eat it ,how's that?
  18. I read the whole post, you say you shot a pheasant on the 25th of September. What I've learnt is to respect shooting seasons and my quarry. I've also learnt to begin a sentence with a capital letter. Pheasant shooting season does NOT begin until OCTOBER 1st. What you have no time for are two things . 1. Game-shooting seasons 2. The Law. Were you expecting a pat on the back?
  19. That's big of you not shooting the pheasants in the summer, pity they are still out of season until Oct the 1st!
  20. Townsend started that shit, smashing guitars, swinging his arms in a circle, because he couldnt play them too well.Any of you lot ever heard of Rheinhardt or Paul ? Jesus Christ! Townsend is a great guitarist not for his rock solos but for his style. The guitar smashing was actually an accident whilst playing the Railway Hotel in Harrow the stage ceiling was only 7ft high as he hit a chord he raised the guitar up and accidently smashed it on the ceiling breaking the head off, so not to look stupid he then smashed the rest of the guitar up and the crowd went wild, moon the loon joined in and

Yep I mentioned him way back in this thread and he's been cited as one of the most influential guitarists of the 20th century and considering django only had use of 2 fingers on his fret hand the others being paralysed it makes his playing ability even more astonishing. But I do think to say Hendrix was only a singer is madness his style and sound was way out there and before his time. I said Cambell was known p
