Not always, the passed land will be passed for the largest/safest calibre,just to save furthur land inspections.So in theory it could already be passed for a 223 or larger if deer are on the land.just ring your local F,L,U and give them the name of the land/farmer,and ask what cal it is passed for

    Hi all i have been thinking of getting a HPR,seeing as the breed of dog i was hoping for ( Redline Airedale) dosent look like its going to happen.So i was wondering if any members could offer any wisdom on the Korthals Griffon,1 of the reasons of thinking this breed is they will work close in.Im thinking of using 1 whilst out with the lurcher,as well as using it for what it was bred for, a hpr.Now i suppose im in for a flaming,so tin hats on.Thanks for looking. paul

    Dont put yourself down Louis,you might only be 15 and yet to learn the ropes,but we all started out the same.There is a bit of a market for shot wood pigeon but most butchers i know will only take them if they are fresh.I couldnt give you a price you might get per bird as its different in most areas.As a rough guide i get 35p per pigeon,not a fortune i know but it does pay for a few cartridges.Also as far as im aware only butchers that are licensed game dealers are allowed to buy them,so dont bother wasting your time asking the likes of super market butchers.You could also try to sell some in

    flesh if you can get it, and if you cant get rabbit,squirrel etc, just get a pack of chicken wings only cost a couple of quid, but as your in ireland euro`s.A pack of wings should last 2 kitts 4/5 days but feed late evening to avoid flies. If any chicken remains un eaten in the morning remove it. Also give them a bit of complete say once a week then if there come a time when you cant get flesh,they will be used to dry food

    stu_wat pm returned longnetter/countryboyo.thanks for the nice words,if a bloke cant give help, advice, and encouragement to a newcomer its a bad do.i have taken dozens of lads+1 female out off pigeon watch,helping them with decoying,ferreting and shooting rabbits.and to be honest i have only encountered 1 complete timewaster,so anyone thats in a position to help newbies come on lads,give them a chance.

    i agree with maria_ferrets,put some of the ferrets crap in the tray.however i start tray training my ferrets with a seed tray with the longest side of the tray cut almost level with the tray bottom,just leave a lip to stop the pee running out.i clean the tray and shavings out every day but until the ferrets use it regular i drop a lumpy bit in the back of the tray. and put a house brick on 1 side to stop the buggers tipping it over
