Willie Shorthose as far as I know is still the Scottish rep. ((he was at NWDA's show at Neilston where we had a long chat) for the FMWTC in Scotland, He's also a Master of Foxhounds at the Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Hunt! Tom Ps: just a quick thought and I am sitting on the fence on this one! if the FMWTC like the phoenix arises from the ashes and has district clubs/branches here in Scotland, would it negate the need and support that local Scottish terrier clubs enjoy at the moment Eg: would a proposed FMWTC say formed in Barrhead have an effect on my own Club in Neilston with regard

If you look at British history you'l discover that Scots and Scottish regiments after the 45 rebellion were an integral part of the founding and defending the British Empire in India, America, Canada, Australia, Asia and South Africa. Some of the founding fathers and early statesmen of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc: were Scots At least education is still free in Scotlands school's college's and university's Braveheart was shite!!! and a substantial part of it was historically inaccurate! As for the SAS it was founded by a Scot (David Stirling, a Scottish Laird) see

CONQUER THE SCOTS... A true account!! Edward I of England comes to Scotland to conquer the Scots. He brings 4,000 men with him. As he nears the battlefield, There suddenly appears a solitary figure on the crest of the hill. A short, ginger-haired guy in a kilt. 'Come up here, ya English b*****ds, and I'll give ye a hammerin'!' Edward turns to his commander. 'Send 20 men to deal with that little Scottish upstart, he says. The commander sends twenty of his best men over the hill to kill the Scotsman Ten minutes later, at the crest of the hill, the little Scot a

New International Lurcher Events
Foxgun Tom replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
First of all, I'd like to apologise for taking this thread slightly off topic! but I feel I have to respond when the "Five Nations International Working Terrier Championship" has been mentioned! it was me that came up with the concept and the idea of such a competition!!, I also had to find finance and sponsorship for the same. This competition was never conceived as a money making exercise but only as a vehicle to promote the working terrier in the main ring at major game-fairs!, I personally ended up using my own financial rescources to fund part of this venture as did many others, as also d -
You can have as many key's as you want cut! as long has no unauthorised person as access to your cabinet! A lawyer a couple of years ago had a visit from the police, he was'nt at home? the police were there to check his cabinet and security! his old mother had access to his key and told the police so!! if they wanted to check his guns a cabinet she'd get the key! The lawyer subsequently had his cerificate revoked because an unauthorised person had access to his guns!! Be careful with security!! Tom

The Clootie Dumpling is quite a rare scottish animal species as well!! sharing similar traits of European Lemmings? stories abound of Lemmings throwing themselves over cliffs, if there's a population explosion, mature Lemmings commit suicide so that there's enough food for the next generation! The "Clootie Dumpling" goes to an even further extreme! it wraps itself in a clean white muslin cloth and jumps into a huge pan of boiling water and slowly boils, is'nt nature and the theory of natural selection, as well as survival of the fittest wonderfull? Tom Ps: RicW! You had a very luck

The Bull Haggis is at its most dangerous during the "snort" it's breeding season and when its protecting it food scource a small area of growing wild oats or it buried cache of Tunnock's caramel wafers or its Cockie-a-Leekie soup watering holes! The female haggis also known as a "Clatty-Bella" is renowned for while being in heat!! to stand for jaggy thistles, clootie dumplings and any other scottish species its also known to scottish hunters as being a "right midden" because of its rampant sexual urges in desperation to mate Tom

First of all hunting Scotlands most elusive quarry is not easy! there are some basic requirments, you need!!! 1/ a couple of fellow hunters from an area known as the Black Country in Englandshire! 2/ A pack of "Sporting Useless (Lucas) Terrier's 3/The Haggis captured! 4/ The trophy! below is a young female Haggis I had mounted some years ago and the processed Haggis from the Game dealer Remember its a short hunting season for haggis which terminates on Burns night where they're actively consumed at Burns suppers! Anyone attending a Burns supper tonight have a

Did them all!! attended the last one (Liberty and Livliehood March) with the "LANARKSHIRE AND RENFREWSHIRE FOXHOUNDS" The Scots all met up and marched as one group! the reception we got from everyone was exceptional! we marched past an army barracks at Hyde Park with Saltire's and Lion Rampants flying! Some Scot's soldiers came out onto their balconies at the barracks and started playing the bagpies that really raised our spirits and our pride as Scots!! I also did an interview for Swiss and Dutch TV, the photo of Clarrie and Sir Johnny Scot in my signature was also taken on that March!! T

He used to frequent a grocers shop my Mum ran in in Ferguslie Park, Before! me and the wife got married we used to go to the Paisley Folk Club in the Silver Thread Hotel, Paisley! and see him and Connelly perform as the Humblebums! also seen him and Joe Egan who was is partner in Steeler's Wheel perform a few times. He was chuffed with the success of the album City to City and he was kind enough to give me and the Mrs a signed copy A very quiet, unassuming man and a great musician as well as a songwriter who'll be sorely mi

A SAD LOSS TO THE TERRIER WORLD
Foxgun Tom replied to Barrie's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Many people were there from all over the country including myself! having spent a day travelling from Scotland staying one night in England and only arriving home a few hours ago today! I spent an hour stuck in the weather beaten traffic in the Lake District and it gave me time to reflect on Dave's funeral, the previous day. Of Course there was sadness but!! there was also a great deal of joy later on, when we all retired back to Dave's local! some of us eulogised and passed about photo's of our friend, while others in memory of a gentle, gentle man sang his favourite hunting songs, I'm sure D -
A SAD LOSS TO THE TERRIER WORLD
Foxgun Tom replied to Barrie's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I'd known Dave for a number of years and had spent time with him recently! he made me smile with his gentle demeanour and outlook on life, I found out early on Monday morning of his passing and have waited till now to comment! my condolence's and thoughts are with his family at this time! I have lost a dear friend and a sometime drinking partner, a man who was generous in spirit and in his friendship. I love visiting Wales but my next journey will be tinged with sadness to say farewell to a man of dignity who was also very humble as well as a great raconteur!! God Bless, Dave Bonnet!! -
Have a look Tom
