    I've a 10. Month pup here and whip grey x deer grey and he's made 28tts and I went for something smaller in cross to try and get size down .also have 1st cross who stands 29 tts , would love to see own a small one !! How is josys litter turning out bud my mate has a bitch off previous litter turning into a smashing bitch but even she is big 28-29 inches but god does she shift

But took my dog out as a pup with ferrets showed all right signs caught two bolters next head out was ferret and bang pup had it was gutted but you have to learn and carry on bud and not listen to the cocks on here

    He is out of a line called pharcourse with some good working dogs in lineage by all accounts sire is very handy dog !! Bitch is a solid whip grey and all you expect of breed . I can't fault pup really forward can't wait for season to start

    To be fair mate I'm in my 40s and done enough to say put food on plate end of !! Doubled up always makes sence to me on fallow and as far as for dogs shock can chalk warren will back up ray ware never bred a bad deer dog !!

    Cheers mate coming on well bushed and caught his first rabbit in week with out big dog showing him.the way so good signs !! Ballsy little thing very lanky at moment but trying to get weight on but no joy .

    To be fare on another thread we talked about two breeders ( which I run one of there dogs ) which say they have working deerhound and I find mine to be missing something or found wanting , so I thought its not the breeders it just needs a bit of new blood bought in My father 65 ran deer x's and myself 40 have run this type all our lives but never bred a litter so I'm thinking it's going to happen sometime

    That my friend is my sort of dog !! Outstanding ! The. Thing being how much would it cost to export a dog ? I have thought about importing a good working deerhound but it's finding a breeder and I have not even got to cost jabs, boarding , flights and going to the country to see the stock your buying . So at the moment I'm settling for a first cross deer grey and whip grey x deer grey

    The doxhope dog I have straight line is something to behold but being tall and quite narrow struggles on tight turns . Don't get me wrong them long b line runs fine it's then sometimes he will choose not to committ unless running with another dog then bang no problem

    The reason I asked was to change subject of two men bitching !! The thread is about two deerhound breeders of which 1 I run and explained . So I change deerhound in my new pup to pharcourse deerhounds in the hope to bring size down and add gameness 1 fraction seems to of worked but size wise no . I started to feel big dog is losing to much in the turn on certain game just my view

    Yeah that's what I'm thinking 29tts bit gutted really think he will be massive he has some neck and chest on him and a lot more ballsy than other pups I've bought on at this age !! Wanted a smaller dog as already have a 29-30 inch dog ideal would be 27 and fill out also going to be smooth coated and most lads know I like a rough dog

    I lave a pup here whip/grey x deer/grey 7months measured him last night 26tts just out of interest what height do you think he will top out at ?? Never bothered to measure other dogs as I knew I was getting tall dogs but this time I was hoping to reduce size
