    Its funny how the game has changed in that way.....years ago a good sparring partner was worth their weight in gold whereas today they take on a career of their own as journeyman i dont think the money can be anywhere near as good especially if they get knocked out they,re on a 30 day ban straight away whereas years ago we was getting paid week to week you might be up different ends of the country every week it was the " have gumshield will travel " attitude Sparring partners would have their own trainers their own contracts......Today journeymen are notching up 150 odd losses but still getti

Personally I don't think it is make or break for Froch, he's a proven fighter worthy of holding a title(s). I think no matter who wins they still have a future, and Froch has been talking about a move up in weight so I'm told.

    I think it'll be really really close this one, but unfortunately I think Bute might be just a bit too slick for our man Froch. Can anyone remember another British fighter that has fought the ammount of quality top flight fighters that Froch has back to back? Lennox didn't even fight as many class fighers back to back as Froch has.

    World class IMO means you are have sufficient skills to compete against the top 10 of your division. People like Casius Clay weren't just world class they were GREATS so using them to compare what a world class fighter should be is unfair IMO. You can only be measured along those who're fighting in your time, to judge whether you're world class. Haye and Chisora are both bonafide world class fighters. Haye has already been champion so for someone to say that he isn't world class is a bit ridiculous IMO.

    Thats right,i knew the name from somewhere......I was with Steve Murray in the early part of his career i think that must of been his 5th or 6th pro fight.....if i remember right Coleman was the first fighter to take Steve the distance......nothing wrong with journeyman fighters its an honest living. That's right, he'd jump into a ring anywhere against anyone, he knew what was expected of him and done his job well. He said PJ Gallagher was the best he fought, he said Hatton wasn't a banger at all but hit him with so many punches to body and head that he didn't know where the next punch

    What weight/area and era was he mate ? the name rings a bell... I'm pretty sure he was between Light weight up to Light Middle. He was one of Nobby Nobbs' reliable journeymen, he had over 150 bouts. He fought a load of lads from the 90's through to around 2004 - 2005. Ricky Hatton, Matty Hatton, Bobby Vanzie, Johnathon Thaxton, Colin Lynes, Michael Jennings, Derrick Roche, Steve Murray and a shit load of other decent level fighters over the years he was active. Another couple of Journeyman mates of mine are Steve Brumant and David Hinds, you couldn't meet nicer people . Edited

    He's getting around it by having the fight sactioned by the Luxembourg Boxing authorities or something like that lol. carnt see the british boxing authorities likeing that much They don't have to like it, so long as there is a recognised boxing authority giving it the go ahead, they can fight and fight in Britain if they choose too. Haye will be too slick for Chisora and he will cruise to a points win IMO. I'd like to see Haye really go for it though and do one better than the Big Klit and force a stoppage against Chisora.
