  1. if peanut butter isnt working try honeynut loops cereal i`ve used this in lofts many a time works wonders
  2. i love trees and have planted a couple of thousand on my holding including poplar, it should pollard nicely if its not to massive a stump but i know this is not the point if you want to plant some more trees to "get back" at him but dont like conifer try some willow (salix viminalis) this grows like mad i have about 1500 of these in a willow bed and they can grow up to 10-12 feet per year. but to make yourself feel better get a watering can full of sodium chlorate weed killer sneak out after dark and write c**t in 10 foot letters on his front lawn.
  3. Hi all i`ve just ordered a ifor williams canopy for my hilux and was looking for some roof bars for my truck so i can still take my ladders on pestie work i`ve done a search but for my model they seem to be around £150 which is more than i thought can anyone suggest a good set that is cheaper, they dont have to be heavy duty as its only for a couple of sets of ladders. cheers
  4. thanks for that comanche, it makes you wonder how traps that dont do what they are supposed to get through the system and on the market.
  5. Has anyone tryed the Nooski rat trap Killgerm has a spring offer buy 1 get 1 free, was thinking of trying a few
  6. i`ve only got £1450 to go then, but am ordering all my wasp kit from them in the next couple of weeks so should get me abit nearer this brings up a question i was thinking of asking what do people think of the ninja wand for wasps as i`m just waying up which stuff to get (this is my first season doing wasps)
  7. :realmad: It makes no difference at all what wood you use because you can black your thumb with any wood. i was just saying that if he is going to make one then i think it is best to make it out of something hard and resilient that can cope with the pressure and shouldnt split you can black youre thumb with any y style catapult without a wrist brace be it wood or metal (if youre not careful)
  8. i`ve just opened an account with killgerm and they seem really helpful it looks like they do lots of good day courses and i think some are free to which is good has anyone done their wasp course
  9. i`ve made a few in my time just for messing around with i would say the best wood is either ash or holly if you look online there are a few places that sell the square type elastic i`ve always shot either bearings or marbles
  10. being a law abiding citizen i would do just what the police want us to do and let a burglar kill me before i attack him leaving him to rape my wife kill my children and then bugger off never to be seen again because the police are to busy catching speeders
  11. have never used one i always give mine a good feed before i go and have never had to wait more than 30-40 mins for a ferret to come out if it kills and this doesnt happen much but i have never ferreted really deep stuff so maybe of use in that sort of situation?
  12. Hi mate i have a sbs 410 i use when ferreting as a 12g can mess them up abit at close range i think useing a shotgun you will lose more rabbits than with nets unless youre a superb shot but it is good fun and with two people one each side of the hedge you can get around much quicker than with nets i use the standered size 410 cartridge with no6 shot good up to 25-30 yards
  13. i got mine from ratbait.com good strong traps about ish plus vat
  14. All depends how tall the tree is lol. i normally throw sticks of they are near the ground or just shoot the drey. The other week ma mate shot a drey and a squirell rolled out of the side, perfect head shot lol. 1 in a 1,00,000,000 shot lol. Just an idea have you not got any old tent poles that was they fold down nicely and you can add sections easily enough. Hughesey bloody lucky shot, when i was a keeper three of us went drey shooting one big drey took 10 shots from .22 rim and two barrels from a 12g just to get them moving 3 ran out only shot one as the others were reloading
  15. they are fooking useless i lost my border/russel cross (right side in my pic) from my smallholding whilst working, got him listed as missing sameday with a good discription any way no luck about 10 days later i saw a couple walking the footpath next to my holding with my bloody dog, they had rehomed him from the rspca turns out he had been handed in on the same day in the same village but they said it didnt match because they thought he was a pure border and i had listed a border cross do you think he looks pure border, they must employ some really dumb people put a complaint in, got a call
  16. Hi all ive got a y reg hilux with 205/80 r16 tyres is it worth going to the expense of bigger wheels and tyres and do they make a huge difference, a friend of mine who is a farmer reckons that thinner tyres cut through to get more traction as with some tractor tyres? i do some driving off road maybe 30% but nothing serious just tracks and fields will bigger tyres make a big difference on milage with the tyres i have i have only got stuck 2 times, i just like the look of big beefy tyres any advise cheers (forgot to say im asking this because i was offerd a set of i
  17. Well I totally agree with you on Duffus but am very surprised you have never come across the mole that always plugs the Duffus. They may be few and far between but when you do get one the Talpex is the answer. Regards Chris sorry but i didnt make what i was trying to say very clear when i said my usual traps, i do have a few of the old scisser type traps (years old and nice and strong but dont know what make) i use these on a plugger by putting two next to each other and moving the triggers to the inside this seems to work although i still get some misses with it. any tips on the setting
  18. Hi mate raco force paste is made with peanut oils its very good for mice i havent used it much for rats Its for indoor use only
  19. are the mk4s not up to the job? after all thats what there for they are a very good trap but it can happen that they dont catch correctly (maybe a very weary or fast squirrel) it doesnt happen often but it can happen. i just believe if youre in someones house it is best to avoid this if possible as we all know how this sort of thing can be blown out of all proportion cages once caught the squirrel can be taken away and dispatched and i have never had a live catch in a kania
  20. a squirrel in a loft should be used to eating off bird tables assuming theres other houses around so any sort of bird seed or peanuts should get him, but i have caught them with a corner off a peanutbutter sandwich out of my own lunch. i only use cages or the kania in lofts as sometimes however well set mk4s dont always kill cleanly and this maybe upsetting for the customer
  21. it would be for meat but was thinking that as they are smaller it would be easier to keep a sow on for breeding my own next year i have two young children and maybe this breed would be more manageable for us as well as being good to eat does the slaughter house charge the same for a small pig as a big one?
  22. Hi all am thinking of getting some pigs this year and like the look of the little kune kunes from new zealand i know there alot smaller but not worried about that just wondering if anyone has kept them before and what they think of them cheers
  23. try holding the trap against your stomach push the loop down with your thumbs and flik the holding pin over with your index finger once its located in the hook it shouldnt just go off then just turn it around and do the same again, it becomes second nature when youve done it a few times
