    i got a dozen of them to try a few weeks back, good little traps and they kill well the main thing i dont like is as trappa said you cant see if they have gone off without digging your backfill out which adds alot to checking times when i have a few jobs on, but i keep them in my small domestic job trap box as they are very handy for tight runs against patios under slabs or along fences or fixed lawn edging etc

    just a quick update i did speak to another guy at b.a.s.c. who just said that they can put any conditions they like on the ticket but that they shouldnt have told me to downgrade to fac air and that i should call them and get the .22 & .17 hmr put back on even if it is a closed cert, i didnt do this as i didnt want to rock the boat. that was last week, well f##k me if i didnt get a phone call today to tell me that now even tho i`ve bent over backwards for them and taken it up the arse they have decided not to grant me a cert at all without some land down on the ticket even tho i ne

    he did mention the mentoring to me but because i have been out most weeks with my best mate and his .22 & .222 for the last few years he said that a supporting letter would be fine which my mate did for me that night and i took it in the next day, but this still turned out to not be good enough

    well i put my application in a while back and had my visit last week, all went well he said i had good experience and knowlege of firearms, cabinate was fine, the only issue was the fact that i am applying for an open cert from the start as its for work use with my pest control, but he said he would put it through with approvel to his boss. i am applying for .22 and .17hmr. well i got a call yesterday from him saying that his boss will not give me an open cert but i can get my cert and get the guns but have a closed cert well this is no good as it would mean that any job i get i would have t

    i dont do it any more but i did when i first started out i just used to cut round the bottom of the tail and then use a split hazel rod cut out of the hedge pushed over then just squize and pull when they go they just fly off

    just to mention another option for fenn pegs i use steel eye bolts about 7-8" you can smash these into the hardest of ground with your trapping hammer but it is an extra bit of weight when your carrying a few.

    i have a 6 year old daughter and when i read your signature i thought it was lovely, i think his mums reaction is just a reflection of the world we now live in. dont leave the site mate we all know you just wanted to help the lad out just read all (most) of these posts your well liked on here i think.

    i think i`m right in saying you get a better current(and shock) with plain wire and its just as cheap if not cheaper 2.5mm x 500m about £25 round here.

    Haha yeah mate, well i did actually make a bird trap thing with some old chicken wire i found, put it in my garden but no luck, i made 1 snare out of some crab line and some wire that i found, but the wire all frayed and didnt work properly lol, better than doing drugs though, time well spent mate
