  2. well i put my application in a while back and had my visit last week, all went well he said i had good experience and knowlege of firearms, cabinate was fine, the only issue was the fact that i am applying for an open cert from the start as its for work use with my pest control, but he said he would put it through with approvel to his boss. i am applying for .22 and .17hmr. well i got a call yesterday from him saying that his boss will not give me an open cert but i can get my cert and get the guns but have a closed cert well this is no good as it would mean that any job i get i would have t
  3. i dont do it any more but i did when i first started out i just used to cut round the bottom of the tail and then use a split hazel rod cut out of the hedge pushed over then just squize and pull when they go they just fly off
  4. just to mention another option for fenn pegs i use steel eye bolts about 7-8" you can smash these into the hardest of ground with your trapping hammer but it is an extra bit of weight when your carrying a few.

  7. i think i`m right in saying you get a better current(and shock) with plain wire and its just as cheap if not cheaper 2.5mm x 500m about £25 round here.

Haha yeah mate, well i did actually make a bird trap thing with some old chicken wire i found, put it in my garden but no luck, i made 1 snare out of some crab line and some wire that i found, but the wire all frayed and didnt work properly lol, better than doing drugs though, time well spent mate

Well my step nan owns a small farm just down the road where i currently snare, but she wont let me shoot there, i have no idea if there is a keeper local to me, and to be quite honest mate i would rarther just snare and ocasionally shoot with an air rifle, i am ok on the farm for now, but ofcourse i will be looking for more permissions later on, probably next year now.   11. when i was your age i was making snares out of old electric wire and nets out of old garden bird netting you may not get as many but its a good learning curve you dont get anything for nowt, its a route alot of us have taken your still young mate it will all come in time. try to utilize anything you have availible to you. saying this times have changed and you will probably get arrested .

  19. i used to get most my shooting clothes nets etc from the army surplus shop in oxford. now its so expensive its ridiculas i can get it cheaper on line or at some of the local markets.
  20. fenn mk6, springer mk6 or solway 6, do a search loads of places sell them just make sure you dont get cheap copies there no good. give johnb on this site a pm i think he sells them, or north east fieldsports

Love the pics Now if you're after a house cow - I've got a couple of dexter cows with calves for sale ..... well thats funny it was dexters we were looking at we have a application for a dwelling to go with a free range chicken farm on our land going in at the end of this month so the cow thing will have to wait till we know if we`ve got permission or not as it will reduce the grazing alot. how far are you from oxford and how much am i looking at for a cow with calf at foot?

  23. well i dug out my old personel cd player and went and brought a cheap set of mini speakers with free batterys then set off with my mate to a small shoot he looks after, 850 birds, had a bit of a play around with the tracks then settled on no.6 put it on repeat, 20 mins later the f#cking batterys ran out so will try again another day
