  1. That switch was from an old lamp, but if you look on the web you should be able to pick a new one up for under a tenner. While the tiablo's not got the distance as the lights snapshot mentions, I've found it's nowhere near as bulky or awkward, so it suits me when I'm walking long distance single handed sessions. On the other hand I do use the brighter lamps when I'm shooting from the vehicle or sitting out.

    Is that spelled right?
  3. Sooner rather than later . quite possibly and maybe the fooking mink. makes me laugh we have one of the largest water vole populations in britian and yet nobody is controlling the mink on the canals British waterways should be doing some Mink control. If not it may be an opportunity for a local person to get a bit of pest control permission along the banks.
  4. Maybe scot, but you've got to have a bit of sympathy for the poor ba**ard...
  5. I also use a tiablo, and agree with leeroy that it's better on a clear night, though 200 yards is usually do-able unless it's misty. It's a very good bit of kit and you don't notice it's on the rifle. I changed the remote switch on mine straight away as I feel it's too restricting having to keep your thumb pressed onto it.
  6. If Bigfoot's real he'll never be found because........................
  7. I came across this nest when I was in the loft of an old building. You can see the width, and the length was easily four feet. Thankfully it was an old nest and the only Wasps were dead ones!
  8. Very good pics There was a big flock flew over me one evening last week when I was sat waiting for a charlie, beautiful sight and the noise from all the wingbeats incredible.
  9. A potentially nasty sting too
  10. Some people talk of that on here too, but I'm not sure whether it's true
  11. Don't know if it's gonna get worse but an old bloke's just been round asking if he can have a pair of each animal ............
  12. :icon_eek: :icon_eek: :icon_eek: Could this have been the scene on Martel on the morning of March 8th ..
  13. My thoughts too, but some people must fall for them or they wouldn't keep cropping up . I bet more blokes have fallen for the emails that guarantee a couple of extra inches
  14. can anyone answer this ?? According to this they get them young: Although a few people in Africa and Asia find very young hyaenas in nature and raise them as pets, these animals generally appear to be extremely unhappy as “domestic companions” as adults, and must often be kept muzzled at all times so that they do not harm people or property. A muzzle prevents the hyaena from being able to groom itself properly. As spotted hyaenas need several years of practice to become proficient hunters, and as they are deprived of this practice when reared as pets, it is effectively a death sentenc
  15. I never realised lab was a girl! everyones bitch  No wonder 'she's' smiling in the pic......In anticipation of an approach from the rear
  16. I never realised lab was a girl!
  17. I've not seen a single wild brood yet, and as you say with the rainfall we've had it's doubtful there'll be many. I read that about the Foxes too, and also that a lot of wet weather when the Cubs are young can lead to higher mortality rates due to them getting wet from the Vixen. If it's right then the weather we've had should mean there'll be more about this year, but as yet it's hard to tell around here as everything's waist high still.
  18. I think she'd class that as 'foreplay'
  19. Why the moans about Japs visiting Scotland?.................. Come on, what red blooded Scotsman would'nt fancy a nice fit Japanese girl?.................... But be careful what chat up line you use .....................................................................
