  1. has anybody noticed every 5'th man has his or her way of doing it, with a different call, diferent set up diferent pellet etc... hint hint... its time in to get used to what ever kit you have and 'perfect' your own way. just a thought like.
  2. ermmm, i'm thinking unlessa springer ticks yu boo you aint gunna like going back to single shot recoils ....
  3. yu cant just say whats sensable? and leave the question so wide open that even the kid with the dummy can spit it out and have a rant lol. point one..king ratty? sencable for whome? pro of 30 odd years or noddy of 4 airgun mags and bought it last week? next is oooo nicely fettled, well tuned gun with the actual pellets that can do it and were used to tune the gun? in order of noddywith crapputh to pro with a golden gun not at all for hunting... middlish, average gun average pellets dun a bit..30-35 yard IF they can hit and.....theres a limit on the power, even after all
  4. basically a .22 does a lovely loud head shot in the general facinity of dead center, a .177 does a quiter head shot with slifgly less room for varience. how ever, i'm coming from .177 for donkies years and trying a .22 on bod shots, cringe..neh i'll stick with the .177, especialy on bod shots. (a btw, did you relise the rat heart is not actualy where most people think it is? its lower on the spine as a measuring tool). next comes the corker...as that rat gets a masive slapper of a really good bod shot it runs off screeming? the fecker actualy jumped the pellet and stamped hard on
  5. the tragectry arrives higher at the poi on an angle, the worse the angle and/or further away the more pronounced, e.g. aiming up at 70 degrees you'll be on two dots hi at 30 yar ish (hypotenuese).
  6. power washers? are they like backing the spring up to make it more powereful? 3 reasons for a stiff cock 1. wee bit over powered 2. you've overtightened the barrel pin screw 3. the innerds are seriously dragging inside the actual piston... (nide arse and desent boobs do it too )
  7. a grand? i'd source a gen 2...
  8. thats why any gun is a loaded gun...that needs drumming in more than any other aspect of shooting.
  9. it maybe the 'your sat their weighting' for like 2 hours, do you uncock the gun or leave it cocked and wait, a sods law thing often happens, as you uncock the pigions land the squirrels run out and stop there, even a rabbit came out to sun bath lol... then as you recock they hear it and everything runs off..... actualy bin there a few times. i used yo unxock every 40 mins or so (sat on your own that means 30- 60 mins randomly lol). that artickle earlier seems to say dont worry about it all if i read it right. (but it did say it depends on the spring and how well it fitted)
  10. When you say if you leave it cocked over night it will half the power is that on just that shot or everyone after?? it was a figurative number... the springs i used some one actualy cocked it 'on my behalf' and left it their, when i used it after the power was reduced noticeably.
  11. over night will feck it.. like half the power type feck it. an hour.. erghh not to bad, half hours nowt.
  12. choise two is ''put the gun down and lay face down with your hands behind your back!!!'' lol.... any where publicly like...worth a call.
  13. in general.. if the screw start to com loose its time for new screws, they ware and the first sign is tightning a little more frequently. nex stage is spring washer or what ever washer, this moves the thread back out a little and then uses the threads that werent taking the full hold.. then they start to go, a blob of curtain glue, its like a sticky silocone when its dry, and can be pulled out in a big glob when needed, after that it wont matter if you sacrifice to gods, beleive in aliens and polotisions alike lol...they aint staying tight. at that stage its hole retap or welding b
  14. just for the by the by... can you turn your gun right down for set area's etc and still hit, i seem to recal a few pest controllers using the rapids back in the day so they could set up shot to shot. just a thought that may aid in further works, more for indoor work about factries and the likes. chair gun charts may help, purdy coloured charts to bring in that pie chart fever at the office lol.
  15. edge if a 2p at 50 meters 3-4 times out of 5 with AA feilds, and 2-3 times out of five with daystates, quit a few pellets hitting the flat as the they went past the edge... i used to zero a springer by hitting the pellet in a mud bank hole from the previous shot stood up, then test it out at 50 yards...stood, always stood. (that was as a youngster of 20, weight trained, i could swim with out getting tyred..walk endlesly fu miles no probs blah blah blah has been yardy yarn.) 5 year back i was hiting bricks with a pcp out to 82 yards measured on 9 mag to about an inch groups, ll random
  16. holdin yu breath too long mate lol..anafelactic shock its called, nice place to be like but....fluid it not stop it.
  17. after thought, if your familuar with the shoulder dismount, you'll want a usual grip lol.. the pistal grip gets in the way or the thumb hole? ffff lol... it does however seem to lengthen the day doing it that way, as long as you dont miss and launch the gun away lol.
  18. i'd say get a light pcp and a 3l bottle to fill with. regaurding stances, avoid full prone lol, u gotta get back up again, if your targeting on a range, gun weight can be a little more, but for now start of with standing only, everybody hates it but its the best stance to learn, everything else is a doddle then, bar prone in this case. if your getting into hide shooting then a carp bedchair will offer best posistion, adjustable legs adjustable back, yu may want to use a two wheeled trolly to lug it about, easier than you think though. if you go walk about think about a gun that'll
  19. All these pellets that you've "dismissed and thrown away" try putting them in a tin and use them for plinking at targets you might be pleasantly surprised, failing that just use them when your using the crono where accuracy isn't needed Ps just bought three tins myself   I would be surprised if you notice any difference in performance, and if you are that worried about deformed skirts and sharp edges what are you using a pellet pouch? AA Fields are one of the most consistent pellets I have used over the years, if you are concerned about the tins you have a
  20. I'm not moaning mukka I just think there shite. I have a brand fire sports HD here. Mounted it once then put it straight back in the box. Rubbish!! thats why theres no 'grading system' if there was you just wouldnt buy it without a push lol
  21. the price has nothing to do with it....its the power strugle and bull that backs it up that counts...apparently.
  22. ahh the true value od a conversation.. the moan facter
  23. hahaha!! the fac broke a scope? tut, shocking that lmao..... the reason for the laughing isnt to mok its actualy laughter at some very pleasent memeries of years gone by, i'll digress abit. out of about 15 80' shooters i knew about or shot with within the inner elitist curcle (including the 25 yard starkers who could stalk better than any one in a film let alone an airgun mag lol) there was this rumer that 80's seem to eat scopes left right and center especialy at fac levals, something to do with them being awsom 'beasts' i think lolol. best way to improve the amount of scopes you g
