  3. i met one of them chinese things at a range, was some ones pride n joy, well looked after and that, be he insisted i have a go to see what it was like and why he liked it. my thoughts were.. hmm three stage trigger? clunk it sears engage (or something clunked in place lol) i took up the first stage (absolutly nothing moved until i clenched it like an old black and white move guy snatching a big arsed machine gun) there was an all or nothing effect of about 6 or 7lb trigger weight CUNK! then the spring clunk CLUNK!!! as it luanched its way down the tube to a very loud but very posative
  4. Will do mate, Cost me £22 in parts but £13 of that was the rivnut tool which is probably an optional extra but i think it gives it a classy finish so if it works out it will be £9 for an adjustable cheek piece.. or £xxx for a new stock I will take some photos at every step so you guys can see how i get on... even if i end up cutting off my fingers in the bansaw any one got links to the bars and fixings at all? mine so needs sorting

  6. thank you timmy tree, some light at the end of the tunnel after all lol.
  7. some speil to mull over.. It's a problem with range shooting from the bench, you stand once and take many shots, if your not 'pointing' at the target your learning to shot 'off' your true line. (true line being the 'shooting true/dead center line up' etc, the line up is the stablest posision you can stand and look at the target, that line is from your best eye part that allows you to see best in a direct 'there at it', the gun scope and target then becomes nothing, its a line from your eye to where the pellet lands..you put the gun inbetween, find it and reep the benifits
  8. or use the direct link its usualy right click or a drop down box, or by the side of the header thumbnail on most sites.
  9. In my opinion, it's not academic at all! What you've just said is exactly the point of the thread, and was the original question. It was never a thread about accuracy or how far can I shoot quarry from (Lord knows there are plenty of those threads already on here!) Knowing how far your pellet will travel if you miss an elevated shot is essential to knowing whether or not the shot is safe. A backstop doesn't have to be a solid thing. 700 yards of secured, fenced in, part-of-the-permission empty space is a perfectly reasonable 'backstop' if your pellet will only go 400 ish yards. If you have
  10. ohh yeh..i know just what you mean lol.. topping nearly 12 hours kip this last 8-9 days lol

  12. what ever it is it needs the angle of inclanasion thing. looking at the foot of a building will say 45 yards, looking at the top you can get anything from 47 to 50 yards.. with the inclansion correcting it tells you how far the building actual is..its easier and better.
  13. back to basics, like wayyyyyyyyyyy back to basics, wheres your pellet going? backdrop etc...
  14. hmm theres a clue in the red faces lol.. are the monk parakets going ferral too?
  15. you'll be suprised how much your mind and body pick up that you dont know about..
  16. Its just something I've always done removing any dented pellets from the tin before use, must be a confidence thing for me. its a basic..look at the pellet then shoot that pellet.. its one thing yu miss out on when using magazines. i actualy meant look at the similarities in pellet shape from brand to brand, you might start to see the ones that will work when your shopping for a new type. things like length and angles etc.
  17. i watched parakeets in a london park a while ago...theyre like a peragrin falcon when they dart off, then they sort of tuck out of vision in mid air to land..sharp eyes jobby. people were warned like 30 year ago...and wouldnt listen as usual.
