  1. I think the big Blue whippet definitly has a bit of 'Bull Blood' in her breeding Frank... As to whether she is a just a heavyweight kinda 'scratch dog' off known racing lines,..its difficult to say I must admit that it was my fault for giving her the nomenclature of possibly being a 'hard blood (non-Pedigree) type of critter... for I have owned similar animals myself over the years,...and she certainly fits the bill,.. and is an extremely game and speedy sort of gal All the best,..CHALKWARREN...
  2. Same as you ASD,...the price has never really changed.... Fecking mystery ?.... £1.00 a rabbit,..from Butchers,..but after a few 50's or 60's they start getting nervy,.and then they tell ya to hold fire for a week or so,.and when supplying the Game Dealers,..its often 80p or even Fifty Fecking Pence I can't think of many other 'items' that have remained the same price, for so many years ? All the best,.CW..
  3. Spot on there Nobby Mo-Evil was a good old sort,..and I've had a lurcher bitch bred out of Mobek his son.. Yeah,.they were a tad on the bully side,.but as I say,..I don't think it affects a dog too much when out-crossed to a miscellaneous lurcher type,.as opposed to keeping the breeding 'tight' by going Champion speedster to Champion,.. as the purest race boys frequently do... My own Fat Whippet has a bully look about her,.and she come down via Supreme Racing Champion 'Country Music',..and he was quite a racy built kind of dog..Whatever,..I would still always favour a nice muscular
  4. Well I quite like that muscular black gal.. I find the modern 'scientific' conclusions regarding this phenomenon to be most interesting And whilst I don't really have the headpiece to comprehend such heady data,.I do know a wee bit about 'Bully' whippets.. And one should not confuse the nomenticlure (which refers to the 'hard blood' inclusion that has gone towards the creation of today's modern specialist racing whippet),.to that of a straight cross twixt a pure Whippet and a Staff (or some other kind of bull dog )....to create a lurcher... I've been around 'Non-Pedigree whippe
  5. DC is my friend..

  6. FAMILIARISATION with such things is a great step forwards Wilf,..but some poor feckers just cannot handle the things... My Kelpie Lurcher used to go AWOL for several days if she got spooked,... Strange thing was,.she worked with the shotgun, and often ran in the beating line on the local shoots,..but,.she just couldn't handle them screaming sky rockets Problem today is,..November the fecking fifth,..means nowt,.and the numpties are firing the whizz-bangs off 'day and night'.... Honestly,...where is the kick in launching a rocket in broad daylight,... I'm OK with my current crop
  7. CONGRADULATIONS.....I'm sure your new arrival will be the making of you mate. Don't be troubled by the past its the future that counts , when you think about the past you live it so forget it and FOCUS on all that is good in your life...I talk from experience my friend...GOOD LUCK. That's a canny wee chavie H&B... And BOTH of your statements regarding LIFE need to be perminantly posted on this site.... "Live today as though it is your last,.coz one day,.it will be"... All the best,..CHALKWARREN...

  9. Go Ted Go.... Well done... All the best,..CHALKWARREN...
  10. That is a top of the range quote Kib,... Perhaps,...take time out to seek the advice of another Vet.... Repairs to Cruciate (in working dogs) are sometimes a bit hit and miss,.and the results difficult to predict Maybe do some serious research on the subject before going with the £3000 option.... All the best,..CHALKWARREN...
  11. WE first met on a Big March,..he was exceedingly drunk,..I was 'confused',..!

Two lonely country boys, lost in the smoke.

Shit,..anything could happen in such a situation?

No Broke Back Mountain stuff,.but a few hugs and photos taken...

I often think back to that day.

    It was nice...

  15. Could any members of this unique Hunting Man's Website please give me some advice... I am being contracted to undertake more and more rabbit and mole jobs in out of the way areas, that might best be described as being in 'Dueling Bango's' country'... Indeed,..I have spent most of the day going around in ever decreasing circles,..and asking directions from folk that are the product of an incestuous 'brother and sister' mating,.is wasteful in the extreme.. 'Porkine Grunts and garbled unterences ' don't realy help me much.... SO,..what is the best kind of Sat Nav for me to purchase
  16. well said frank,it takes a lot of experiance to do it right and shouldnt be done by any dog,and all i would say never attemt it if your unsure, mark : That is good , sound advice... Dogs need to be accustomed to this style of hunting,..or it is dangerous... Just seen the lamping film clip,..it looks to be good craic,...and I agree with Tomo's comments... This could be a worthwhile project and I'm sure most of the site would give some money for various charities,.I certainly would...And I think that if you guys PUSH the fact that this production is for the benefit of others,.
  17. Good work Tomo.. That is a good haul,.and seeing it reminds me of the plagues of rabbits we seemed to have everywhere in my Southern area,..back in the 1980's...Such a large quantity of game allows a man and his dog, to really test the ultimate working canine to its fullest potential,... Its also grand to see lads meeting up and turning from being strangers or occasional acquaintances ,.into firm friends and brothers... I know it cannot always be like that,.but I feel that is what the hunting game is all about Please lets see more and more posts throughout the season,.which des
