  2. whats the traps intended victim in its home country?? cheers TOMO Marten, Sable,..etc... It is fixed to a tree and baited with a lure to attract the target species... All the best,...CW...
  3. That Black Farmer geezer is a real Mandingo,... Remember the year when a group of Moochers all met up in the beer tent,..it was a good crack,.. Where did it all go wrong.... All the best,.CHALKWARREN...

  5. you must have been saving that top sentance just for me for the last 3 year, as you know it was me that put them pics up of the trap set in that upside down maner. as it hapens the two babys i cought were actualy in a loft , and the trap was set flat on the floor. but i will try harder Well,..that is all that one can ever hope for....
  6. Enjoy your day Socks,... I'll be thinking of you,...and many thanks for that invite All the best,.speak soon,...regards,..CHALKWARREN...
  7. Many thanks for finding that comparatively rare footage... I think that clip must of been taken from extremely early film footage of the Salukis, going by the youthful looks of Mary H,...but,..her and John could certainly encourage these fabulous Desert Hounds to engage in all manner of activities... And as such, it rather makes a mockery of the erroneous statement that Salukis are stupid,.etc,.. All the best,...CHALKWARREN...
  8. Yes they are,..and I am well made up with them.. When I first handled the original Dutch Talpex traps ,..some 25 years ago, they were a mystery to me But now,.I am far older,..far fatter,..but considerably more adaptable,.and I like the Magnum Talpa... They are hardly precision made, ..finely honed works of art,..but as workmanlike 'rough and ready' tools for the job,..., they are perfectly adequate... HOWEVER,..that being said,..I would urge folk to think carefully before purchasing similar copies from China.... All the best,..CHALKWARREN...
  9. I sure can't argue with that fact Devonlad... My Flat Pack half barrels are so fine tuned,..the cold breath from a large earthworm could fire em'.... But,..I'm having some real fun with these imported Curry Wallahs,.. And there is a definite time and place for them... All the best to you,...cheers,.CHALKWARREN...
  10. I don't believe that moles become trap shy,...but obvious strong and unfamiliar odours seem to cause awareness problems on some occasions. This apprehension can result in the mole either turning around and rejecting the trap or at best,..slowing down and patrolling his tunnels far more carefully,..and it is this quiet approach that can change the outcome of an otherwise easy kill. I have found that moles are well used to finding their tunnels damaged and blocked by heavy traffic from tractor wheels, cattle and horse hooves, etc. And when they encounter such devastation to their worm trap

Moley,..You have been waiting to say that for ALL of your life Goodonya mate,... All the best to you ,.and yours,.CHALKWARREN...
  12. Hi mate,...The Talpex trap is a new thing for a lot of guys,..but,..to my eternal shame,.. I was actualy sent a sample of this type of trap 25 years ago It was a strange concept to me, and I couldn't get my head around the idea of clearing out a tunnel,.only to fill the fecker back in again,.so,.I sent the traps off to a Welsh trapper pal,.and promptly forgot the idea. I've always trapped moles.. Obviously not in great numbers like the lads on the Dales and Fells,...we just don't have that kind of trapping in my area,.plus,.I rarely take on big farms coz I can earn as much for killing a

  14. Nice 'old style 'mouching jukes' .... I've walked out with some reet good'un's over the years,.. and had some great times... These lurchers are ideal for taking out game birds and small deer,...and they can hunt like Stoats.... I really like them.... All the best for the future,....CHALKWARREN....

  18. there is no law to say he cannot sell them , its illegal to use them, things should change to stop this crap being sold to the unknowing public
  19. I've always gone with Bradshaw & Bennett (they have a special policy that the BPCA seem to like)...BUT,..now that I have gone full time on the rabbits and moles,..and have said goodbye to the Rodenticides and Bug Sprays,.I'll probably go with the NFU... For yourself,..I think you should make doubly sure that any Insurer knows exactly what your game is,.and that he will honour any misshap,..God Forbid, that might occur... You know the score with some of these guys,.. Nothing worse than a wriggler.... All the best,.and good luck to you... Kind regards,..CW..
  20. Nice picture Wild Rover They sure are an interesting type of lurcher,.. All the best,..CW...
  21. Same as you ASD,...the price has never really changed.... Fecking mystery ?.... £1.00 a rabbit,..from Butchers,..but after a few 50's or 60's they start getting nervy,.and then they tell ya to hold fire for a week or so,.and when supplying the Game Dealers,..its often 80p or even Fifty Fecking Pence I can't think of many other 'items' that have remained the same price, for so many years ? All the best,.CW.. You could have sold any amount of rabbits in Leicesters pubs in 1965, i got 5 bob apiece for them ,that bought you two pints of Shipstones bitter and 10park drive, and you st
