  1. Always great to see the pictures Doddsy! Shame about the work, a few more will be worried about going back i'm sure.
  2. Yep takes a strong finger to push them on! But like just stated previously, i don't think they'll be that bothered!
  3. Nice pics and day out again Magwitch. Don't think the bunny that headbutted the blade would have come off better in that exchange! Funny how some will run into anything when pushed!
  4. Nice one, terriers sure can be usefull for that sort of work, they'll hunt through anything, and pinpoint mark a rabbit.
  5. Yep that close up ferret pic's a cracker! Well done sounds like a good day, shame about the depth of some of those kills, but even i'd be thinking twice about a 6ft plus unless a critter was well and truly stuck! Most ferrets will move on once they have killed, especially if there is still rabbits on the move!
  6. Might have a go myself during the summer when there is nothing to do, I suppose it is a good feeling to work with your own made nets. (until the old man leaves them on the holes!)
  7. Nice bag and top trenching with that little blade! The angle of the head is the key to lifting the loose stuff out, even the purpose made bulldogs rabbiting spade's lack enough angle to lift the loose out when you get 3 ft down!
  8. Good on you for trying! One or two on here have worked with them, sure you seem to have the upper hand!
  9. Always good to see the rugrats in the game Matti. A cracking dig as well! Good effort!
  10. You need a nose on the ground! Any dog worth it's salt can mark, just reading the dog is the key. Any change in posture, stance will probs show it up. Watch carefully, they are all different!
  11. who me ? you know i like to see them run off for another day... Richie thats blasphemy!
  12. Nice bag moley, looks like you pushed the gents a little!
  13. Hang on! Is that a blade hidden amongst it all?
  14. How did the Mackems end the match Andy?
  15. How does the hob shape up Andy? Like the racking system for the hazel poles.
  16. Do you think we should be paid as 'Care in the community workers'? Does your old un remember your dogs name, and your name as well? Mine struggles to remember just the dogs names! No wonder the retrieve is awfull when he calls the dog another dogs name!" Mine as funny turns when its his turn on the spade Mine only uses the spade as a walking stick, when it comes to digging, he perches himself on top of the ferret box and starts barking commands! It would be ok if he could use a mk1 locater, but i think the dial confuses him! 1-8???? Too much! Dare not get a mk3 yet!
  17. Get at em Stealthy! Let us know how you get on! I don't think it will be worth posting numbers wise, but I'll let you know what happens, had the rescue hob on a diet to speed him up, he's starting to look the part now, see what happens. They need to be trim, some folks think trim is starved, but no, any athelete is never on the fat side. Watch any ferret come alive when it's not a porker, don't allow it to gorge on a cage full of grub, just enough the day before, and they'll show what they are about! Be sure to let us know how he goes!
  18. I wish i had silence for just 5 mins Stealthy. Suppose i'd better cherish the time, rather than wish it away!

  21. Wish I could get out for once on my own! The constant bickering of my old man, telling me what happened 30 seconds ago is driving me mad!
  22. Not been feeling 100% myself, but still got dragged out. Boxing day. Had a day out giving the pensioner some exersize on the high ground. Using one of the young dogs (Robbie) this is the faster of the 2 dogs, and has a better strike, we hunted up the ground on the ghyll side with lots of rushes. Slow going to be honest, and really hard running, the ground is at 45% to start with, then the rocks and rushes give the rabbit an advantage, but dog did ok, nothing special. Took the jill that had shone a few days earlier, and tried the same tactics on the high ground netting up and so on. Th
  23. Nice one Ritche, you can't get all of the rabbits all of the time mate.
