  1. That's it make hay while the sun shines as they say. It's not so pleasant in the rain but you have to get out there and take the rough with the smooth if you want to keep the customers happy. If you leave it until the weathers fine as some suggest then you won't keep up with it and customers will soon lose faith and go elsewhere.
  2. Picked up another 68 yesterday on the same farm, leave until Monday then roll traps we first set to last few fields. More jobs added to the list yesterday!
  3. Yes I have a few talpex in the bucket ready for tomorrow.
  4. A good haul there, we just picked up 61 this morning from yesterdays setting. Kept setting until we ran out of traps this afternoon, back tomorrow to check traps and finish off setting up. Like you say plenty about and farmers are keen to get them gone, happy days!
  5. A brace in the bag ferreting at the beach. #43
  6. A cracking day today numbers 40 and 41 in the bag.
  7. Just google it and you will find it, make sure its for your area!
  8. That's it once you are established and known, you can then hone the workload to keep the favourable jobs and decline the rest. I am but a mere beginner, but once people hear that you get the results then the works starts to pour in. Word of mouth is a powerful tool especially in the farming community.
  9. You definitely can't beat the garden work, if you can get enough of it. If you are trying to earn enough to live on around here then the agricultural work is a good way to get the high workload at the appropriate time of the year. Make hay while the sun shines, as they say!
  10. Ideal sounds like a good plan. It's totally different from what we are doing. Regarding the farmers, we just say a set price per mole no livestock in the fields. That way if they add on anything its to our benefit. It's hard graft but good money in the season ?
  11. So how would you make a living on agricultural work? ?
  12. Just buy SD card with TOPO maps of your area and put in it. Yes it will work in your area.
  13. We had that down on another 550 acre farm this week picked up around 160 yesterday to move on to another job. Thats with two of us working together.
  14. I would like to see you push a trolley full of traps on some of our ground on the moor, lol. It's whatever suits your situation I suppose. I find a quad or a gator suits us fine. Last week we had 650 traps to pick up on one farm, with the gator it was perfect a couple of trips and we were done.
  15. Why don't you get a quad or mule? I have my own quad but if the land owner has a quad or mule they always let us use it then we knock a few quid off the bill. It saves hours of donkey work.
  16. With the Marshall the battery has probably gone in which case you won't pick up the signal. I know of a few people that have lost their birds because the battery life on the Marshall GPS is very poor.
  17. Nice one! It sounds like it works well for you.
  18. Yeah same here. You have to do it while it's there, I'm knackered. Just started another 500 acre farm today. Trying to get through the list and keep everyone happy.
  19. Same here struggling to keep up with it at the minute! Sounds like you have it weighed off to a tee. Is it seasonal in France or all year round?
  20. Is anyone doing much moling at the minute?
  21. A brace today marked by the dog bolted by ferret. #39
  22. I heard of a guy using a garmin. I was wondering if what 3 words would work although it's for 3 metres square. Could have it's uses.
  23. Out for a quick one. #37
  24. Another nutrunner in the bag #36
  25. First kill today since being laid up through an injury. #35
