  5. Hind sight is a great thing, it all seems so innocent at the time, and like you said they have had worse tumbles, life really is cruel at times It wasn't an accident with the sloughi, he became ill very quick and had to be pts today(within a week), lung cancer, unbelievable
  6. I was actually just thinking of what happened to your dog when I got home. I, like you Mark on that day wasn't thinking anything of the dog running, it was a half hearted attempt and a little tumble, I was just about to whistle him back, if only I was a bit quicker. He had the best life with you, take care! A very sad day today my friend lost her Sloughi today too.
  7. Oh Mark I am so sorry the same thing happened to me in May with my deerhound lurcher, he chased a Roe and lost his footing going over a stone wall. I am still gutted and it is so hard to take R.I.P Tariq
  8. I agree the dog should fine. happened to one of my salukis and never affected his running. But you do have to clip the nail
  9. Cheers as I said I was just interested to know if such a feat was possible for a little dog! Sorry I will keep my mouth shut now I am only passing this on to those who do not understand the working Border Collie, they are a hard working dog, loyal, to his master, and would and will work till he drops, first and foremost he is a herding dog,(( a good friend of mine was given a border collie, free of charge, from a Farmer, to a farmer, but also a top dog handler, the dog was very well bred working, trialling, dog, the previous owner, tried to train him with the shock collar, and in the

  12. you were acting the tough guy, on about collies, theres no place for that on this forum I was acting the tough guy? In what way? I didn't say it was my collie, it was a gunine question because I couldn't believe they could? There's no place for what asking if a collie really is capable of taking deer. ffs that is mad!!!!! edited to say if you read my post I commented on my lurcher as being useless how that being the tough guy?
  13. where did it go? Did I do something wrong, just so I know and wont do it again?
  14. yup put her in the crate before you leave the food unattended
  15. I think this is sound advice!! just re read most of the post and I didn't see anyone say think of the pup as you would a 15mth chiild? Agree that would be pretty stupid as the goal is for the pup to toilet outside and a kid wears a nappy for good knows how long But I do think the same mentality applies that both canine and human both need to be 'trained' not punished!!
  16. they don't get it, if you know how to house train your dog you live in a house like yours and not a shit hole, if you beat the dog for pissing and shiting in the house you will end up living in a shit hole because the dogs pisses itself out of fear
  17. its called house training mate or do u live in a shit hole get a life how is that house training? 'crack the pup over the nose'?
  18. Great pictures, nice dogs!! How are your two pups doing? Have you had the black pup out yet?
