Hind sight is a great thing, it all seems so innocent at the time, and like you said they have had worse tumbles, life really is cruel at times It wasn't an accident with the sloughi, he became ill very quick and had to be pts today(within a week), lung cancer, unbelievable

I was actually just thinking of what happened to your dog when I got home. I, like you Mark on that day wasn't thinking anything of the dog running, it was a half hearted attempt and a little tumble, I was just about to whistle him back, if only I was a bit quicker. He had the best life with you, take care! A very sad day today my friend lost her Sloughi today too.

Oh Mark I am so sorry the same thing happened to me in May with my deerhound lurcher, he chased a Roe and lost his footing going over a stone wall. I am still gutted and it is so hard to take R.I.P Tariq

I didn't say it was my collie, it was a gunine question because I couldn't believe they could? I think this is sound advice!! just re read most of the post and I didn't see anyone say think of the pup as you would a 15mth chiild? Agree that would be pretty stupid as the goal is for the pup to toilet outside and a kid wears a nappy for good knows how long But I do think the same mentality applies that both canine and human both need to be 'trained' not punished!!

they don't get it, if you know how to house train your dog you live in a house like yours and not a shit hole, if you beat the dog for pissing and shiting in the house you will end up living in a shit hole because the dogs pisses itself out of fear
