clean as a whistle with only 64,000 on the clock and all for the bargain price of £2,900 ........
mine are trained to the whistle anyway mate ............
obviously it isnt the whole story as there isnt enough room on an internet forum to comprehensively go into a correct training regime for different types of lurcher depending on what quarry they run ... all i did was give the fella a quick idea on what needs to be done for an all round training regime .........
thats why i said if the dog is at its optimum muscle size meaning for its breed ................
if the dog is at his optimum muscle capacity and not overloaded then he wont have any probs with injury ... you will have more chance of pulling a muscle by swimming a dog in this weather as the water temperature is to cold and the blood will be sent from the muscles to the vital organs causing cramp and leading to a pulled or strained muscle .............
both types of excersise works different muscles (ie fast twitch and slow twitch) and to get a dog in peak condition you need a training regime where you combine both ... road work over 4 to 5 miles is good for stamina and tightening up the muscles tendons and sinues where as short burst cardio work helps build muscle and helps the dog with its overall recovery time ..............
my dogs are kenneled outside but do come in the house throught the day ... my wife is also great with them especially when they are pups and she does most of the early stage sociolising ... betwenn me the wife and 4 kids they get plenty of attention and are probably glad when we all piss off for the day so they can get some sleep :11: :11: :11: ...........
whilst i was out walking the pup today i was watching the pup hurtling around the woods ... round trees ver fallen logs skidding on her belly under scrub and just generally enjoying herslef and it got me thinking would anybody else let their young pup do this or would they call them to heal in fear of them getting injured .....
i have allways encoureged my young pups to do this as it sharpens up their movement and reactions and helps with their general supplety (spelling) and every pup i have owned loves this type exercise ...
i have noticed that the pups dont seem to enjoy open fields
you need to get a good balance of nutrients and vitamins mate and by feeding fruite and veg you can achieve this ... ie vit c from apples anti carcanogenics from tomatoe vitamin a from cabbage etc etc etc .........
it needs to be animal fats mate beef is the best ... i get all the offcuts from my local butcher and it comes to around 20lb per week which mixed with chicken rabbit and venison is more than enough ............
you cannot have a pup that is to obedient .... as tina has said all the pup is trying to do is please its owner and not do its own thing ... what does he want a delinquent nut case that you cant control and rips up everything it gets its mouth around ...
as for worrying that it is not doing this not doing that .... IT IS 12 WEEKS OLD
the fella needs to chill out and allow the pup to mature steadily and if she wants to please him and is willing tp learn new things then go ahead and teach her ... remember the brain is a muscle and the more it is worked the quicker the dog will be to pi
