Vin the picture below is from my parents back gate where I was brought up ... A pair of peregrines would nest on them cliffs every year and I would sit for hours with a pair of binos watching them ... One of the best things I seen was a pigeon being killed by a peregrin about 50 foot above my head ... Absolutely amazing .........
Aye, my nan had one of these to go on the gas stove and all when I was a kid!

Nothing wrong in allowing a young dog to grab a dead rabbit in the net ... Just imagine its the dogs first time out as has been stated it sees this fluffy thing in the net goes over to investigate and is stopped .... What is the pup meant to think ??? Can I chase and grab these things or not ??? Far better to allow a youngster on its first few days out to grab as many rabbits as he wants whether in the nets or not ... Once the pup is confident and has started wedding to the game it can then be steadied up and schooled in the art of netted rabbits .......
First time out ........

Every sport uses different muscle groups and needs different levels of maximum output and recovery time so it would be impossible to say which sport requires the most fitness ..............
Dependant on what the dogs quarry is will depend on what conditioning programme you follow ... a lamping dog that is getting numerous short burst runs with very little rest time in between will be working different muscle groups and will need to convert blood oxygen differently to keep the muscle groups working than a coursing dog .... Also the heart and lungs will be working at different rates for a coursing dog compared to a sprinter .... Personally I like to condition my dogs for all round work with a mixture of different training techniques ..........
