    We fitted 14 drop boxes a few months on a large arable farm and took some good numbers of rabbits off it and on the last lift a month ago i only took 8 rabbits and the place looked pretty devoid of coneys so a job well done ... Anyway I was at a loose end yesterday evening so I decided to go and have a look at the place and maybe set a few of the traps ... The top end looked pretty dead but there seemed a bit of life at the bottom of the field so I set 8 of the boxes ... Went and checked on them this morning and they produced 21 rabbits ....     It's easy to slip into fat made lol .... After spending 30 odd years training and keeping fit when I left the army I decided to chill out ease back on all that nonsense ... Well fukc me the weight soon piles on ... Mind you up until two weeks ago I was drinking a bottle of wine a night and two on the weekends and a few pints of cider a night and a good Sunday session ... I have stopped the midweek drinking now and have shed 3/4 of a stone just by doing that alone ... I need to be at peak fitness for the fishing comp so that I can haul in my full keep net ..............

    whats your money on socks? ive never seen people hunt with birds so i dont know feck all about it. a good experiencend ferreting dog would be on a bolting rabbit quick though. I don't know mate it will be very close ... Rules are the dog and bird must be on the edge of the warren not letting the dog hover over a hole otherwise that would be pointless ... Thing is the goshawk can hear a rabbit coming the same as the dog can so its going to be close .......... wont the dog attack the bird if its first to the kill,or is the dog trained with the bird The dog won't touch the bird mate she

    There is an old boy down here ex keeper that does some ferreting with my and is very well known in the goshawk world ... Anyway we were talking about bolting rabbits to the dogs and birds and we had a debate about about what would get to the rabbits first .... So next season we are going to have a little bet dog against bird on bolting rabbit and hopefully film it .........
