The dog thing to me is a completely different subject ...,its nature versus nature ... The same as the video showing a pride of lions pulling down an elephant and killing it ... Its nature it's what happens and prey species and predator have been going on since time began ... I haven't got a problem with hunting any animal but FFS let's use the tool for the job and doing quickly and as professionally as you can ... Pre ban you wouldn't run a fallow with a whippet or two or three of them you would use a dog big and strong enough for the job ... If you were going to stab someone you wouldn't use

I've been out with guys that didn't do it and watched rabbits hit a hedge at a hundred miles an hour then its my go in the same field and by flicking the beam the rabbit dances just long enough for the dog to grab it ........

You would catch a few more if you bounced the rabbit of the fence line by flicking the beam .........

But the animal still suffers due to our personal choice of hunting method.... Humans hunting with sharpened projectiles (spears etc) has been around for thousands of years, much longer than the high velocity bullet, it's the most basic and natural form of hunting large game we have. We could throw justifications at each other all day but I can't see past the ethics of suffering in both cases. I hunt because it's deeply ingrained in my genetics..... I hunt with dogs because to my senses it's such a natural way of hunting that it satisfies that primitive hunter in me...... much the same as b

I go back to my original comparison then Socks, running deer with lurchers. Surely by your ethical stance we cant justify using dogs to run deer that aren't capable of instantly killing it's quarry? Dogs would pull their deer out of sight all the time and unless it had the power to cause the deer huge and instant trauma to the neck the deer would be fighting and bleeting for its life for as long as it took for the human involved to find it. Surely we can't justify using terriers that will work a fox in a hard maner because the foxs death will be a drawn out affair and far from instant? We just

The way I see it if you want to hunt then use the correct tool for the job in hand ... And using a bow and arrow to shoot an elephant is not the correct tool for the job its a slow painful land lingering death ... You wouldn't use an air gun to shoot a deer or a .177 pistol to shoot a fox ... Why ? Because it isn't an instant death ... I have nothing against any form of hunting whether its for sport .. Food or commercial gain ... But as hunters we need to be morally and ethically sound in the way we go about our business and that means ending the life of the quarry we hunt with the swiftest an

Start off with a pound of mince a day then add your veg etc and see how you go ... Add or take away depending on what the dog looks like ... You will have it sorted in a month ........

Anybody near Marlborough .... I have got about 50lbs of frozen meaty bones ... Beef lamb and venison that I need to get rid of today ... deff would'nt like to be out there with being only 1 ft out of the water a lad from the UK was killed the other week in Oz by one bite his leg off, bled to death they couldn't save the poor bloke . fook going in the sea , ive always said you got no chance with any shark they can hit any angle , rather something chase me on land at least you can hide or get up a tree etc. .! Yep I'm with you there ray fukc going in the sea ... Far to many things that can kill you before you know their there ........

Oh yes then one that did a backflip in the middle of open ground and when we got there 6 seconds later was nowhere to be seen ...,his name must have been dynamo ..... And the one you both witnessed was that the same as the load of rabbits you saw each other shoot but couldn't actually find ............ -
