    would a sod not eventually fall in on itself and collapse the burrow artfull12 not if you use a good thick sod mate that cud hold bit weight maybe if you use a skim of top the ground it would collapse but the big sod at start works for me and the setts still get used but methods vary with the depth of hole ie we do a sett yearly which is 12 ft which means the hole would be bigger it takes a bit of care and if done right youll dig same place again but thats just my opinion

    i put a sod in first to bridge the tube then carry on with the soil and the same sod on top that was first removed back in place basically leave it the way i found it
