  1. Alright lads. Just a quick up date on whats been going down on my side of town. Recently i have had the chance to get a gun (Yes another dog to the armoury that i had to persuade mother a bit ) So after deciding that i was going to get a kennel, i had to get a proper base down and find a decent kennel that would accomodate for the dogs needs (LCD TV, Sofa, Kitchen Sink, Toilet, Shower, you name it) So got the base down which was going to be 16ft x 10ft and approx 4inches deep. After ordering 2 tonne bags from jewsons, they managed the piss around and f**k the delivery up on both bags. B

  3. Hia lads. Just thought id share my experience with this. About 5 years ago when i started getting into hunting (Rabbits that is) i noticed a large amount, or should i say a healthy amount around my area. I have 2 permission on my door step that when i walked the land with the ferrets, i would always get a few and when out walking would see 7-10 in one field. Then i moved from ferrets to running dogs and started to work a lot more at night on the bunnies. Taking many from the farms that i have permission on and not ferreting as much. Rabbit numbers in general reduced and as we were onl
  4. Well, cheers for the comments lads but i have some bad news. This fox was simply a decoy !! The REAL culprit is still in the fields below my house haha. Had a quick flash down the field at about 6.45pm this evening and saw the crafty shit walking across the bottom field, acting the same as when the lamp is placed upon him. The chase continues.....
  5. A whippet can and will take a hare. Shot a few that have been simular size to my whippet, but they can take them. On the lamp, or day time, but as the other boys say, maybe not a regular thing.
  6. Well, had a quick flash over my garden hedge onto some permission that surrounds me just now, been chucking rabbit heads/guts/wings you name it, its been thrown in there to attract the foxes in to my rifle or shotgun. Been after a crafty fox recently that has normally ran after the lamp was on it for a few seconds. Bu this time, i lamped the field so see the fox, lying down next to the hedge that runs parallel with my lane with three bungalows on it. So went inside very quietly, got the .22lr out and loaded with winchester subs. Normally load a high velocity for charlie but i could shoot t
  7. Only second post ? and trying to get rid of a dog. Hate stuff like this !
  8. Remington Golden bullet mate. Good for a close range fox and some longer range bunnies. Got some for my .22lr Sako Finnfire and have never changed !
  9. Lad dont ruine my post ok. Im not taking foxes from you're part of the world. I take foxes with shotgun, rifle, lurcher and terrier so dont go complaining that im taking all the foxes. Im just doing my job for the farmers around my way, they are happy, i am happy and thats all that matters. On the other hand, cheers for all the POSITIVE comments lads. Its a buzz when they come in that close. But me and my mate love calling in the foxes, its the best thing about going out after them i find. Nothing better that calling them in. One night not long ago on a big sheep farm by me, i
  10. Went for a lamp tonight with a mate on one of his farms. Very clear night but slight bit of wind going to we were hoping it wasnt going to be too hard to get a fox. Lamped a bank on the other side of the field and spotted 2 sets of eyes, so decided to walk around to come up behind then. They were hunting in the field and didn't seem bothered about the lamp on them. Finally got to a tree that was on a fence line and spotted on of the foxes happily hunting in the field. Wind was coming straight at us and fox didnt have aclue we were there, I gave a little squeek and he came bolting in to
  11. Hia matey. The shotgun if perfect for fox control in the right hands. Me and my mate have been lamping the foxes hard this year, i take my .22rf and he takes his Winchester SX3 Semi auto 3 1/2" chamber, 30inch barrel with three quarter choke, he uses a cartridge made by fiochii (63gram of 0's) and tell you what, its devastating. He will lamp and i will shoot a fox if its not in his range but we have had a few gallopers and he passes me the lamp and i lamp for him while he takes the fox. We have been doing this recently and so far it has had us 54 foxes, a very good number i think and we have f
  12. Thats a very health bad there guys haha. What cal rifles were you using .22 or 17HMR Makes my 20 look f**k all compared with this haha !

  14. You seem to be going around this forum making childish comments i see joball. How is is a 'future divvy' as you say. At the moment, hes the one getting out and doing what he loves, not you. All you do is sit and comment on everyones post's. Have you even been out this year hunting ? Or do you thrive of internet videos and pictures, or possibly buy books and read them from you're armchair ? You seem to be going around this forum making childish comments i see joball. 16. Throw them in the hedge or ditch. Not much you can do really, can burry them but shout 26 foxes in the last month and a half and dont really want to be digging a hole or two at the end of every night lamping.
  17. DONT USE WD40 ON THE BARREL OR METAL WD40 will wreck the blueing over time on the barrel if you're not careful mate. Trust m, i work in a gun shop and have seen it happen. Get some good quality gun oil if u want to use it on the barrel.
  18. Seen the woman at the end with the MASSIVE arse
  19. Hia mate. I do a bit of both to be honest. My permission depend on what method I/we use. If for example were lamping the hilly 750 acre sheep farm we have got, then we will take the L200, simply because we can cover a lot more ground, put all the quarry we shoot in the back of the truck and, its quiet nice to sit and have the heater on in the cold cold january nights. On the other hand, most of my permission i have i walk. We dont have massive farm but there just ok to cover on foot. We can execute a nights lamping quieter that the truck, get to more places and work a fox a bit easier tha
  20. Nice post. I was out myself the other night and shot 2 fox's. 1 a full grown dog fox and a cub. Shot at a fox 60 yards away but the bullet hot a fance and missed the fox completely and then turned around straight after to see a cub coming in to the previous call. Very good post, im trying to hit them hard and fast at the moment, before the bird come into the local estate. Easier when their young and vulnerable !
  21. Hia mate. My rifle barrel is 21.5" long (Varmint, so its quite thick and heavy) The mag i zero and shoot mostly on is 6, some times i go up to 9 or 8, but only so often.
  22. Is that a custom bolt handle on the Quad mate ?
  23. I have recently been testing some ammo for longer range shooting and close range fox where a sub ( I know will drop a fox at close range ) is not what i want to shoot a fox with, id prefer a faster, stronger traveling bullet that hits hard on impact. NOTE i was just testing these rounds and do not go out deliberately with my .22 foxing OK, just to get that across. My rifle (.22 SAKO Finnfire Varmint weighting in at about 10.5lbs in total) that i use has a Leupold VX-1 3-9X50 with a duplex reticule. I have this rifle zeroed at 65-yards on Winchester subsonic bullets. They are VERY accurate
  24. Hia mate, my uncle uses these loads (Gamebore Mammoth) in his Remington pump action. We patterned the shot and found that at about 50Yards its was OK, not saying it was brilliant but should do the job. We did shoot a milk carton filled with water at 4 and it ruined it.
