Im using winchester subs and they are not as good as i hoped (maybe its a bad batch) but im getting 1/2 inch groups to 2 inch groups, the bullet is just not consistent enough. I have been looking around and wandering what the the remmis like? good, accurate. subsonic ? The gun is a Sako Finnfire is that helps, also any other brand wpuld be appriciated. Thanks, whippeter
  2. Had a fiddle with it today, the shooting is back on track, did some tightening up on every bolt and screw i could find and it seems to have done the job. Il let you know if anything else happens.
  3. As much as i pondered with the idea "it must be me, it must be me" to gun was apsalutley rock solid with a sand bag.
  4. Iv got a .22lr Finnfire and have been usning winchester subs with no problem. The other day while out target shooting i re-zeroed my rifle to 50yards to make sure it was on target but it was out slightly to the left, so a quick change and fine. After about 3-4 shots it went far left(About one inch) so i fired again and it was fine ? The gun was rock steady and there was no wind. I took the gun apart and gave it a good clean, i cleaned the barrel, took the bolt apart, the barrel off the gun, cleaned the reciver and even the magazine everything had a right going over. I know after a gun is

  6. Putdown verming matey, this will cover animals like rabbit, rat and avian specied (crows pigeon as long as there on the ground) but remember even tho the .22lr has the capable power of killing a fox close range, fox does not come under VERMIN according to the Fiearms deparment. Rather odd, but we cant argue, they know better than us.

  10. Going beating tomorrow on the Monacthy Estate. Better wrap up warm.

  11. Once over heard a discussion with a ex copper at a shoot once. He was saying that if some one were to break into you're house and you WENT AND RETRIVED A SHOTGUN FROM THE CABINET you could be liable for prosicutuin as you actually went to get a firearm to use it for what it is not supposed to be used for, however. If you were CLEANING you're shotgun whilst a robber broke into you're home, then you can use that shotgun to protect you're self. ( if you feel you're or you're familis life in in danger you might get away with blowing off his leg of arm)
  12. How long have you had the Moderator for. You might have to put a couple few hundred shot through it to get it 'run in' matey. It might be better then
  13. Could be a rabbit pen, for gun dog trainers. Never heard of a 'public woods' but i dont think that a pen ike that would be in a public place, maybe you should check its actually public

  18. Hi matey. Just to clear a few things up here, You can legally be given a shotgun as long as you have a SGC from the age 15 and over. I am 16 and have got my FAC, you can be given a rifle that you have authority to aquaria when you reach the age of 14+
  19. Went to do a bit of lamping on a permission that i hadn't been on since 09. The farmer has got a few chickens and the fox regularly takes one or two. So i grabbed my 20bore 4 BBs and my mate picked me up. We lamped all around the place and this land is very hilly and boggy, we got to a small pond which is at the bottom of this dip we climbed to the top side of the dip and started calling, literally 2 mins after i started calling, a box was belting it up where we had just been walking, he hammering it up the hill now and he pops his chest over the brow and i let him have some of my 28g BBs
