  1. Two different things indeed. Another thing is showing a young dog it's first few foxes with another dog which in my opinion is bollox and not needed if the breeding is right.
  2. Im not trying to rub anyone up the wrong way Sammy but if a dog is bred for the job and has had a bit of work put into it then at anything over 18 months it's the owner that's not mentally ready to give the dog a go. Lol. I've seen young dogs show no interest but that's different from not giving it a look.
  3. If your dogs are bred right why would you wait till 2 years of age to show them a fox, if a lurcher that's bred right and reared right isn't ready for a look between 14 and 18 months then there's something up.
  4. Always enjoy a small fresh river brown trout fryed in the pan.
  5. Perfect way to start, always preferred for them to start in the day and under their own steam.
  6. Some will never be mentally ready no matter how long you wait that's the thing, I'm not talking about throwing them at stuff at 12 months old and definitely some mature later than others but there has to be a cut off point where it just takes getting a face full to see it they're up for it.
  7. If he's looking keen to give them a go then at 19 months I'd be letting him find out if he's cut out for the job, I've never owned a lurcher that hadn't seen its first fox by 14 months but they were bred for that specific work, I've seen puppyish dogs change completely offer starting on foxes and become more confident in themselves. Nothing like graft to focus a young dog.
  8. There's 2 young lads work in our place tats on almost 500 a week and are skint every Monday, neither drive and rely on family members for lifts, it's fcukin sad.

  10. Or the lads complaining about being broke but have a 300 quid a weekend coke habit.
  11. And some of the most successful come from fcuk all with no education.
  12. I know lads that will give 4 or 5 terriers their fill of work. But like you say for the average fella 2 is plenty and sometimes it's 1 to many.
  13. Something we both agree on.
  14. Been there, its why I fcuked of out to the sticks. Fcuk living next door to some dude in 300 grands worth of debt thinking he's Mrs Bucket. Lol.
  15. He's working class middle management desperately trying to look middle class. You know the type..
  16. It's as easy to keep 2 fit as it is one but I found the work is very rarely split 50/50, one will be better or just thrive on work more than the other, one will be better on the lamp where the other maybe better at catching daytime foxes close to heavy cover. Run them to their strengths.
  17. Aye good reliable bikes and not overly fast but fast enough to get round traffic, a work mate has the new 650 and that's a lovely wee bike.
  18. The xr 600 and 650 are good tools as well but always fancied a 400, riding this at the minute, a bit sensible but that's what I wanted when the kids are young, I just can't behave on a trail bike or something quick. Lol.
  19. Aye things are crazy at the minute.
  20. The previous owner of mine was a mechanic for the TAS suzuki race team and he had done all the upgrades you could ask for, bought it for £2400 through a dealer with 1100 miles on the clock in completely immaculate condition, I rode it for 2 years green laneing and got 2800 for it trading it in against a new FZ1, the dealership sold it on for 3800. Lol. The same bike today would still be making 4 grand.
  21. A mate put a lowering link in his, he's a midget as well. Lol.
  22. Had a DRZ 400e myself, loved that bike and its the one I truly regret parting with.
  23. I'll be checking it out. ??
