The last few times ive been out on my usuall flying/exersise ground ive seen a lot of crows and magpies there,my hawk has tried his luck last year on 2 good cock phessies but just missed both of them ! he does take bunnies but ive never tried him at crows,so if any of you guys have any success on taking crows or magpies with you harris hawks any advice on how to get him on them would be much appericated better if you have any pictures also,THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hes flying at 1lb6....but is razor sharp 1lb5.3/4,or there abouts... altho he has come out of this years moult and has responded at 1lb6.2,i hate given out weights i do have a rough idea if he is going to hunt decent on just his response when i go into the mews and when hes picked up.

My male harris is about done a been droping his weight slowly for about 2 weeks and hes responding well at 1lb6.4/5..... Should be getting him out by the end of next week to get his fitness up,il be going after rabbit mainly but i will be trying to get cock phessie this season,had 2 near missis last season ....Im going to try my hardest with him this season

Has for the hooding i honestly think it does have some good benefits for us i hood all the birds ive had because you just never know when you will need to keep you bird calm. For one example i was hunting on an estate in abergavenny(on permission) when a local farmer stoped and asked me the usuall stuff regarding my hawk he then asked me up to his farm up the top of the valley,so he drove off and i just walked on up towards his farm house,as i approched i just about managed to see that he had a small duck pond with some ducks on it...yep you guessed it my hawk started baiting to have a p

Tried rico again today weighed in at 1lb 6.8.....First call little bit vocal ? ...second call bang to fist,and the 3rd and 4th every time there after ....Happy days jump up tomorrw me thinks..

All sounding very promising guys...nice to get them out its been a long wet summer with tempartures up and down playing hell with the moult but i think its TIME... Get the birds fit,and get them out for some good flights and decent kills,be nice to see and hear reports from like minded hawkers/falconers Good Luck to ALL.

Well weighed my fella all week started off just under 1lb 9 on mon weighed him thismorning 1lb 7 and a half tried him to feed off glove at 10yds second call and on the fist ... cant wait till the weekend he will be off free by mon im sure.... ROLL ON THE SEASON
