  1. it was quite small about 5" across and 7" up. it was quite heavy for its size, i'd say aroung 3lbs. but you can fill it with polythene balls instead of sand and it will be much lighter.
  2. hi all, i recently bought a stoney point standard front rest bag unfilled for £11. at first glance it looks a bit small but it inflates like a baloon when filled with sand. fillind the sand was very easy as there is a small tube on the side for you to insert a funnel into. you can fill it with sand or polythene balls. i chose sand because i wanted the bag to be heavy. once i filled it and gave it a test. i set a target at 45 yrds and took 5 shots with my air rifle. before when i was shooting from prone with just the gun bag folded up as a rest (quite bulky) i was getting 10p size groups (bear
  3. hi all, i have been looking around on ebay for a new scope. it needed to have 2 things. 1) it needed to be about x16 mag maximum. the reason i want a high mag scope is that i am realising that i can push my hunting limit all the way to 45 yrds now and my x10 mag is just a bit hard to see detail through. 2)illuminated reticle. i think an illuminated reticle would be very usefull for low light shooting. my budget is £70 max which i know is a little cheap but i am skint. then i found a tasco 6-24x50 scope with illuminated reticle on ebay for £35 pound. i know these are cheap chinese sco
  4. excellent post! this may sound like an obvious question...but did you edit bad spelling into it?
  5. Aaron talks sense. We know no one is perfect but if you are going out just to hit anything regardless of the result thats just not on. Maybe more like a 20p but 50p is stil better than what you have now. You need to seriously work on you shooting and your attitude towards your quarry. Freddy well, a 50p piece dose cover the kill area of a rabbit in my opinion. anything better than a body shot.
  6. No mate I like eating them but they all go in the freezer and quartered up for Pet food ....... i love pigeon, would never give it to pets. you should try it.

  8. nice shooting! i could only dream of daystate guns! did you eat the pigeon?
  9. go for the webley. the lightning xl is not a very good gun in comparison with other rifles' its overrated.
  10. nice one! It has different colours but the body shape is virtually the same as our woodys.
  11. you don't want to 'hit' a rabbit a 40/50 yards, you want to kill it cleanly, you've got your morals mixed up mate, clean shots first, crop protection second. its not acceptable to wound quarry, even if it means crops will be protected.
  12. it was NOT good shot if it was in the front leg. you need to get down on targets and make sure you can hit a area the size of a 50 pence piece before you even think about shooting rabbits. everybody has the odd runner but your first rabbit was obviously wounded because you found bllod and the second ran for a while befor eit went down. get down the range and practice!
  13. with a pcp 45 yrds max. with a springer (for me anyway) 35 yrds max. always go for headshots.
  14. under the stock there is a bolt next to the pressure gauge. undo this with an allen key, DO NOT LOSE THE WASHER! the stock should sperate from the action ok. then get a rag with a few drops of gun oil and give it a good clean down. now it important that you don't leave any fingerprints on the cylinder where it will be covered by the stock as any grease or sweat in on your fingers will cause rust. put the stock and action back together again and give it another wipe down with the rag this is what i do after every session. hope this helps.
  15. brococks are good guns and are very light. but for the same price (£370) you could get a lot of very nice guns. the hawke map 6 is a good scope, most scopes from hawke are good. 700 PELLETS?! you must ne enjoying your new guns a lot! happy hunting with them!
  16. unlucky mate. what are red finches? are they a pest speices over where you are? are the woodies the same speices as we have here (wood pigeons)?
  17. thanks, .177 with AA diablos. if its no more than a mildot holdunder i'll be ok.
  18. hi, im going roost shooting tommorow and i just wanted to know if when you shooting up at something like a 60 degree angle wether you should put some hold under or hold over because of the effect of gravity. my zero range is 30 yrds so how much will i need to hold under or hold over when shooting at high up pigeons. thanks, Aaron
  19. the stoeger x10 is a good rifle. from a little known company as well. i have never heard of a webley ags..
