chicks are due tomorro, when will i astart to hear them? when do i put chick crumbs out for them? do i keep giving the hen corn? at what age can i let them free range with the rest? was only planning on asking one question. cheers

no not got any mesh on bottom, dont think is any stoats/weasels around but few rats, will they be ok with hen to look after them and keep warm, or should i put inside under heat lamp? heard they get wet if grass isnt short and catch a chill. cant wait. cheers for the replies

the eggs my hen sat on are due this fri. been in run and got her nest box. whats there for me to do when eggs hatch except feed? do i need chick crumbs etc? the moveable run is on grass do i need cut the grass short before chicks hatch? cheers

my pup the same. had few chases thought she had them but dont strike. had few young uns in bush daytime and is mad for a ball. hopefully will click soon

day after started this topic my big fat orpington went broody, only left eggs in nest box few hours longer than normal. she still on them now, wasnt impressed with me trying get her up for drink etc. then two days later black rock went broody but ones enough so took her eggs she was sat on now she back to laying. chicks due on my birthday. read 21 days does it differ alot? will be my first chicks if goes to plan so am complete novice. any help welcome

had get my 2 jills done about month ago. 15 quid each was cheapest place to get jab. done the job. make sure vet covers there head with towel or summit caus tried bittin her when put needle in & snapped a needle, next time i tried helping her she stabbed me with needle. got myself hob now getting him vasectomised when get a chance. cheers
