Hi si yes on a heidelberg. Is that a tbt kit? The 99 is a pleasure to work on isn't it! I think I'll polish the cyl out like a mirror then - it worked perfect on the 85 I just wanted to check people's opinions weather I should retain some cross hatching. The 99 is fat becoming one of my all time faveroutes.

Cheers si I thaught so but I'm very sadly ocd with some stuff. I diddnt notice much difference with the 85 but made me feel better confidence wise. Its not my gun so don't want to get carried away and spoil it for him. Iv polished pistons and left theese marks in guns before years ago and the marks in the cyl scored the piston again so surely defied the object of piston polishing. But reading online and speaking to people at the range cylenders should not be polished internally?

Hi rez! No cropped barrel. I had the same dilemma with the 85 with light marks I diddnt polish them out but i woke up in the middle of the night with the picture of them in my mind lol. In the end a month later i stripped it again, taped 1200 grit to my shotgun mop then stuck it in a drill fixed the drill into a vice and polished it out like a bloody mirror. It performes abserlutely amazing! Like silk and had no bother at all But... I often wonder if removing the crosshatching removed some of its lubrication properties? Hence the possably dumb question. (Feel daft asking) But... shared

Allways wanted one of these as a kid. Nice to hear of them again!

Hi guys I'm home fettling another hw99. So far iv got as far as getting a sfs spring and properly sized top hat by sfs and a vortek piston seal. Upon stripping the gun iv polished the end of the cocking link and the cocking slot and cleaned out the cylender. All looking good but there's heavy marking in the piston area. No gouges but im after people's opinions if you would leave them and just make sure they are smoothish or polish them away completely. The piston seal area is mint. Iv put some elbow grease into them so far in the piston area but not all gone. Am I been a bit

Nature is full of suprises! I have blue tits nesting in a bird box each year in a tree in the front garden and they are agressive buggers too. Doves allways try nest in the same tree but the blue tits won't let them they harass them until and keep them away they have fledged then the doves move in straight away. While fishing the dearne this morning I had one follow me non stop it must have ate over 10 worms I fed it at one point almost taking one from my hand!

I'm currently doing the online learning version it's pretty good - just struggling with the legislation bit! I would do the classroom version where it's explained better if you can.

If anyone shot my landy I think it would go Un noticed on the dents and roughness allready there lol. Them seats look in good condition! Is that a series 3?

Cheers charlie caller! I'll do plenty of research before I go down that road in a few years time. Until then I'll have to just enjoy watching wild birds of prey and the watching them at the shows and bop centre. Wish you the best of luck with your goshawk! Sounds fantastic!
-
Very nice! When I have more time in a few years I'd love a Harris or a redtail. I hear the goshawks are quite a handful? Would be great while ferreting I bet!
-
Shall do charlie caller. Things are a bit hectic at the moment but later in life I want a rimfire and a hawk.
-
Wow! I looked at a sako finfire once and that looked quality! One day charlie caller it's on the bucket list lol.

Thats because it was a Remington 597 lol, along side the standard Ruger 10/22 these rifles are cheaply made American rifles that are meant for kids to shoot tin cans in the back garden, and a bit of pest control, no wonder a quality pcp air rifle would out shoot it at 50 yards, now the Ruger for instance has a whole industry built around it, in terms of tuning and tweaking, there is a company in Barnsley called rimfire magic who do some amazing things with 10/22s totally transforming them from backyard fun gun to super accurate carbon fibre barrelled semi auto works of art, expensive? Well for

My shooting paenter who has sadly passed away used a remington 597 .22 lr and I had my excalibre. It was a few years ago now but my airgun pissed all over the accuracy of the remington 597 at 50 yards. I don't use .22 lr but I did better groups than it and could shoot rabbits deemed maybe unsafe with the .22 lr. I'm not a rimfire shooter but his remington 597 didn't group like the fac air gun but also opened up more shooting opertunityz.
