Must be different else where, as here in surrey % of lurchers are just pets. -
I'e kept a few sorts now, kune kunes, oxford sandy and blacks, landrace, and a few crosses, the best i've had, and am now sticking with are saddle backs.

Though this is a jack rabbit, which i think are closer to hares than rabbits.

seen them kill other birds, and a baby rabbit, but wouldn't of thought they could kill a healthy adult rabbit though. They are clever buggers, and maybe ones learnt how, so i wouldn't 100% say no.

just did a quick google, and theres folk on face book who hunt muskrat with there pet mink.

Neither look like ferrets, i wonder what the story behind them is ? Maybe something like those foxes breed in russia for the fur trade that were domesticated over a few years, and started acting like dogs, untill they were all destroyed, they breed only the ones that didnt show aggression, to make the fur farming easier ?

I recon it couldn't be too hard to train a dog to sniff out whale puke, if they can find truffles, that stinky stuff would be a piece of pi55 for a dogs nose. Beach combing could be lucrative.
