  1. We don't make any money. The adverts for this site help pay for the cost of running the site. This site attracts thousands of visitors and uses a lot of bandwidth. The more it uses. The more it costs to run. The donation option was for those that wish to help pay for it's upkeep. A goodwill gesture if you will. It helps run the site but it isn't mandatory and no one makes an income out of these donations or adverts. If you think you're paying anyone's wages you're deluded.
  2. Don't get me wrong here. If individual soldiers are committing atrocities then they need punishing to the full extent of military and civilian law. Just following orders didn't work at Nuremburg and is no defence for anyone. Evidence first though. The full blame for all of this lies at the hands of Mr Blair and now his unelected successor Mr Brown. End of.

Don't know if this will work but it's the best I can think of, and I do know it works with Theoben if anyone ever wanted to check their rifle. If you rifle is a genuine import it will have Hull Cartridges stamped on the barrel. As far as I'm aware they're the only official importer of Weihrauch guns. Try contacting them through their website Hull Cartridges Give them the serial number, of the rifle, and they may be able to give you some of it's history. Failing that send an email to info@weihrauch-sport.de Again give them the serial number and ask for any info on the rifle.
  4. That’s just oppression and censorship, let the people make their own minds up please. The BBC are one of the best funded "impartial" networks in the world. They get a mandatory subscription from every TV owner in Britain and non-payers are pursued with more vigour than the local smack dealer. The majority of the stuff they do is quality viewing but more and more shit is allowed through. As it's very fashionable to slag off the involvement in Iraq, you'll see more of this kind of "news" as the days roll on. I don't agree with British involvement in Iraq. I never have, but it's wr
  5. How much are you going to spend?
  6. Best gun for hunting is the one you use all the time.
  7. Never had any problems with AA pellets but sometimes duff batches work through and on to the market. I've always stuck with Accupells, F&T Trophy and RWS Hollowpoints. I believe Mr Darcy swears by RWS Hobby if memory serves. Try a couple of different brands and see how they work.
  8. When I started out I used to put up markers at set intervals. I'd shoot from a certain spot, just targets at first, and try and use the markers as a crude form of range finder. I also tried to tie it in with the parallax adjuster on the scopes. It wasn't great but with practice it gives you a reasonable idea.

    Permission.

It's difficult. Some are resorting to paying for it. Persevere and expect more rejection than permission.
  10. If they want to protest they should target the sun. That f****r is frying everyone. Get them all to fly there and hang banners over that f****r.
  11. Maybe he fired it like an artillery battery?
  12. It's probably best to let a BSA shooter tell you the best about them. I don't like the 10 shot magazines that BSA use as I find them very fiddly in the field, but that's purely down to the size of my hands and my dexterity (or lack of). As has been mentioned above, if you want reliability and ease of use I'd take the HW100 over any rifle currently on the market. Hang on to the Stingray. I have one myself and it's a great bit of kit. Cheap, reliable and with enough ft/lbs to take all legal quarry.
  13. That's like asking for the meaning of life, Buster! You missed out "why does everyone go shooting!" There are so many different options available and certain things appeal to different people. If you narrowed it down to a particular rifle maybe someone with experience of that rifle could offer some tailored advice??
  14. I won't read the link on principle but I assume it didn't sell?
  15. Deker gave some good advice earlier in the thread. Unfortunately the law is anti dog, not anti cat, it'll be easier for your neighbour to prove you wrong than for you to prove you're right. This is definitely worth trying to sort out without the law or the council getting involved. As for what can happen it's hard to say, because every case is different but there has been a case where someone got an ASBO for feeding the pigeons. Think carefully before acting on any advice offered on this forum... it might be worth asking for some legal advice at your Citizens Advice Bureau or contactin
  16. If your budget is £200 you'll struggle to get a decent PCP and the charging gear to go with it. If you've got your heart set on an S200 then save a bit more!
  17. Join BASC or another recognised shooting group. They provide you with insurance as part of your membership. They will also give you contact information for gun clubs in your area. If you want to hunt on land, then draft a generic permission letter (detailed elsewhere on the forum) and offer your services to farmers and land owners. You will get more rejections than permission so persevere with it.
  18. I typed hunting holidays and france into a search engine and it came back with this... http://www.shooting.sh/shoot_ovs_loire_france.shtml
  19. Let's start here then... I've been away. I'm Chris, by the way, glad to make your acquaintance. The highlighted bit was the bit I disputed, and still do. Agreed though this is where it went off on a tangent but that's what opinion boards do. Y'see someone calls me naive and I kinda go off on one, because I'm not. As the profile says, I'm an opinionated twat, but I'm not naive. I did bring up dealers. Obviously, I cannot speak for all dealers but I merely stated that they offer free advice (unless some charge an admission fee). Air gun mags do not. If the dealers you frequent
  20. I've not read one for years. I know the Airgun BBS had several anti hunting posts and distanced themselves from hunters as much as they could. I heard that one of the mags published an article that distanced themselves from other fieldsports, in an attempt to save their own necks. While I wouldn't put it past them I must confess that I have no evidence of this and it was pure hearsay.
  21. But you can't shoot pheasants at night.... legally.
  22. Next questions then. Do you want to spend the full grand or do you want value and usability? New or second hand? Like Ratman said if you're just going to plink rats get something cheap and cheerful instead of going for a super expensive set up. Most shooters give up the game within 6 months. Do you want to try something out first? Start cheaper and upgrade if you feel that shooting is the game for you? Next question. Rifle. Single or multi shot? Do you want something like a springer which never needs recharging, and only requires small amounts of maintenance? Or are you prepared t
