  1. I agree with you. Maybe approaching your local MP might not work but publicising her connections, with extreme animal rights activists, would? Also who can they approach that supports us? Again I agree... it's worth pursuing because there is clearly an interest even at this early stage. Fact is people see the mess this has made and genuinely want to help... I'm sure you'll have volunteers as your plans are gradually revealed. I think we're in agreement with you as well. These groups aren't reflecting our needs and something needs to change. I'd go as far as saying that
  2. Did you hit Report or Top? I didn't have the mass PM that goes out to every mod.
  3. You're right WILF but this could be more about getting people to work towards a common goal rather than take funds to try and bribe people. Enough volunteers could see the flow of information improve and allow people to log in and see where their attention is required. Telling people how to approach their local MP's is a start as I'd bet that many don't even know who they are. At least 1 in 3 haven't a clue. From this forum alone that ratio equates to over 2300. Keeping people up to date and discussing the stuff that matters trying to get the attention in the right areas... is a st
  4. There is alot of people here with experience in all walks... from fieldsports to forum running! It would be a shame not to try and tap that resource.
  5. For what it's worth. We have a forum here, accessed by thousands. Maybe a chat with the administrator would yield some assistance as far as a meeting place would go? Having a one stop area for all things countryside related would help focus those that want to help, but feel lost. Might be worth using this free site as we're having people join up all the time. Nothing wrong with a gentle nudge in the right direction.
  6. Tell us more! You have 7000+ members here... I'm sure some will help out. What do you propose?
  7. I can only agree with you there. In September 06 I started this thread to see who did what... it became quickly apparent that all the disciplines are linked in some way. The only division, in fieldsports, appears to be the actual representation. I know many people, as I'm sure you do, that are involved in several different kinds of sports. Yet in all this time they have to join several groups that represent them only on single issues. In all this time only the BFSS (read CA) have tried to encompass all of that yet have utterly failed the people they come to represent. If someone was capabl
  8. Over the years I've seen so much infighting, in the hunting world, I've genuinely begun to wonder how much of it is stage managed and how deeply we've been infiltrated.
  9. If you take love hunting. Hate antis. Yeah, you've got common ground. If you look at how the CA they distanced themselves, as far as they could from lurcher and terrier work, would you spend your money with them? They love hunting, hate antis but managed to alienate a massive section of the hunting community despite them (terrier and lurchermen) making up the bulk of the numbers at the marches.
  10. It might do but recent history says it won't. I know it sounds defeatist but the pro hunt groups have only just worked out how to use the internet. The most frequently used pro hunt propaganda tool is probably this forum. If it isn't it's in the Top 5. What do we have to show for it? Arguing. Lots and lots of arguing and infighting. A snap shot of the hunting lobby in general. This forum could be used for great but there are many here that wish to see it disrupted. A reflection of all the hunting groups. The best thing I could see would be a brand new organisation that would suppor
  11. Fair comment ripstop but that bit implies something else.
  12. Agreed TSA but will that happen in our collective lifetimes? 30 years of apathy would suggest no.
  13. The only right he has, to be pissed, is because they should legalise gear in all sports. Levy a tax on the sports professional body, and let them enhance their way to whichever championship goal they can. What's wrong here is that they claim drug cheats are in a minority which is insulting the intelligence of decent people.
  14. Why should be people be penalised from being able to spell, punctuate and use grammar though? The original post implies that these skills are in fact not wanted and a sign of being that some members on this site think that they are better than everyone else ?
  15. Interesting thread. Is being able to string a sentence together make anyone superior? If so why?
  16. It's not negotiable and applies to everyone. Just. Fu*king. Stop. This has been a public service announcement.
  17. Please play nice. My delete finger hasn't recovered from the weekend.
  18. Yep. People disagree and then more groups form. This is diluting the power of our lobby and is making us weak. The American NRA, whether you love them or hate them, has more members than the UK Conservative and Labour parties combined. Imagine what one cohesive voice could do for fieldsports. We have more supporters than the antis but we lack direction and have done for years. Unless this is remedied we will continue to be restricted.
  19. If we could get one group that would support ALL of us I would join it. In the meantime I'm still in BASC because of it's insurance. When it expires I would consider SACS, details of which are at the top of this forum.
  20. How many of these people stick out their necks and promote countrysports? I reckon they're the ones that deserve the recognition. It's one thing to like countrysports but another to actually go out and encourage others to follow. Roger Daltrey gets my vote as does Johnny Scott.

Will Ben Fogle be presenting it this year? Have the bookies stopped taking bets on him looking like a tit and not having a clue what's going on? They must think that because he wears a Tattersall shirt he's a countryman.
  22. Exactly because they're all at it. Legalise all gear and let them show it for what it is. The IOC is a joke and these dope tests are pissing into the wind.
